Only to stay away from Nyquil, or any of the "night time" cold medicines. Yeah, I should have read the label first and noticed it's like 20% alcohol, a major trigger for many!! Otherwise colds have never seemed to have any effect on cycles. Hoping he's at the end! Guiseppi

Hello, its funny because i was worried sick when i was coming off my pred taper because as soon as it was done my glands swelled and i got a lite fever for a day and a half. But other than the aches and pains of the common cold, i was worried for nothing because it caused me nothing in the way of clusters. Hope that helps. Feel better. coach bill.

Being chronic, for 21 years now, I've had my share. Be extra kind when this happens because it's easy to fall into the "self-pity-party" trap. Wishing you well, Ray

Last weekend was a nightmare for me, I had a 'head cold' and as usual my sinus' blocked up and I couldn't breath through my nose. I also have sleep aponea and use a CPAP machine, but I only have a nasal mask. So not only was my blocked nose preventing me from sleeping, I had CH pain as well to keep me awake! And both my o2 and CPAP masks were full of snot....... How much fun can you possibly have in a weekend eh?

My last cycle i got sick and I couldn't get better. TRY to rest as much as possible. It seemed the more I forced myself to rest the healthier I got. The headaches were worse but I 02 works well for me so I really turned it up, even if I THOUGHT i might get hit I was on th 02.

Back when I was chronic, pretty much the only time I'd get PF time was when I got cold - which was the only good thing about getting a cold... Back then I thought that it was due to the fact that the beast either had mercy on me or stayed away so that it would get my sole attention once the cold was over... or something like that. But these days I know that the PF time arrived thanks to Findrexin, the cold medicine I use, which contains caffeine. Then again, I always knew when the cold was ending, because that's when the beast returned... Sanna

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

When I get a cold in cycle, the cycle temporarily stops. Once I get over the cold, the cycle resumes where it left off. I have no idea why. As someone above said, it's the only good thing about getting a cold.

A cycle is the same as an episode.there are episodic and chronic clusterheads. Chronics have pain through the year and have some pain free days, episodics can have pain free years until their next episode starts my episodes last from 3 till 4 months but this was without being medicated I'll get medication when my next episode hits because I was just diagnosed CH last march. My (cycle)ended last month. on Apr 5th, 2008, 2:51pm, Jonny wrote: Cycle? A cycle of what?....Do you know? |

Living Barometer, Jonny knows what a cycle is. His comment was in regard to the fact that Mybels husband has not gone to a Dr. or a Neuro to rule out something more sinister. He has not been diagnosed with clusters at all.

For me it used to be a relief when I would get a cold. Never got hit during one. This time around when I got sick I got nailed with a big CH.

The only cold I get is each time I stand in the shower running cold mountain water over my head until the beast leaves, goose bumps mean he's on the way out! John
