Anybody get twitches ?

Hello All, It's been awhile since I've logged on...almost five years!! Mostly PF since I quit smoking 4 1/2 years ago. But this cycle is kicking my butt!! Been going 6 weeks now. I think (read: hope)the worst is over as attacks have been fewer and somewhat less intense, probably from medrol taper. Anyway, this cycle has a new 'feature'. Just before an attack, I get what feels like muscle contractions on the right side of my head and twitches under my right eye(pain side), on the bridge of my nose, and upper lip. I mentioned this to my neuro and will probably get an mri soon. Just wondering, does anybody else has any kind of similar tics or twitches? Mack

Yep, get the old eye twitch quite a bit before, during and after a cycle.

I have eye twitches all the time. Mostly on right (non-cluster side), the left eye gets twitchy too, just not as bad as the right. Beth

Blepherospasm--a nice fat Latinism to sling about. I find that unlike "tic" or "twitch", "blepherospasm" elicits a simulacrum of tender concern in the listener. It's a nice word to use if you'd like a bit of uncomprehending solicitude and social grooming. Yeah, I get eye-twitches too, particularly in cycle. Best, George

Thanks everyone.. I thought maybe it could be related to CH. I guess it might be interesting to know what percentage of CH'ers have the same twitches vs. non-CH. Still would change the fact that its annoying as hell My wife says I looking like I am trying to give myself a vulcan mind meld when I'm trying to calm the twitches. Mack

| LOL That's a pretty standard position for this clusterhead during and shortly after a hit. I was doing this during attacks - messaging several pressure points at the same time with one hand - when I saw it on Star Trek. I couldn't believe it!!! From that time on I connected with the Mr. Spock character. He looked like he understood a CH hit. Wrenching pain, sometimes screaming, followed by near exhaustion when it was over. Chit maybe these CH's are caused because of the Vulcan blood in my system. Maybe there are other vulcans out there LOL!! See below.

Mr. Spock tried Vulcan mind meld during one of my K10 hits. You saw how he reacted on TV... then the movie "he's dead Jim"... But he came back....

Oh definitely. Often it seems that during an attack, and sometimes more so when it's more severe, the muscles are contracting all over my body. Kinda like the somatic nervous system thinks that "Rosa is preoccupied with something else! Let's have a party, shall we?"

Now that you've mentioned it I've got twitches too(left eye lid). I can have these twitches anytime also when I'm not In a cluster episode(I'm episodic). But I do also think it has something to do with stress. For me CH and stress go hand in hand.

Yup, absolutely. In fact, I was just about to come on here and start a topic about eyelid twitches during an attack and then saw this thread. Mine specifically is my lower right eyelid on the same side of an attack. -steven

Twitches, Red HOT ears, buzz in my skull. I call this one thing I get a Star Cluster, feels like a million stars on my scalp all red hot (during the day). Then theres the Cluster at night. The fore mentioned is all daytime stuff. Some one said- somewhere I read and it fits perfect. It's a "Dirty Headache" Which to me- cuz I am into electronics is like a Dirty Electrical Signal. These things are weird and do lots of weird stuff to different folks.

I also get the eye twitches, right eyelid, same side as CH. I also noticed sounds in my head, kinda like little explosions, and then the pain really hits. Kitty

Sean, I just checked out the link you gave. I don't think that is it, cause I had a CT scan done that came out normal about 2 weeks ago. No bleeding, no tumors. Kitty
