Personal Description of CH Attack by a Physician

I ran across Dr. Lee Kudrow's description of a cluster headache attack (from the inside). Thought it might be of interest--Dr. Kudrow has considerable descriptive powers. I think you'll find it very familar. This may have been posted at some time in the past. If so, please forgive me. The accompanying information is quite old, so it is of less use. http://www.nbneuro.com/cluster.shtml Best, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

Thanks for posting that description George. I hadn't read it before. Very powerful. Tough to read but worth it. -Dennis-

Definitely a good read right there. He did leave out though at least for me when I am done having a bout with a CH the feeling of such relief when it is over. I feel so good when it is over, then pass right out.

I'd heard the name, but had never read this before. Very well written. Also a very good description of the setup before the hit. During a cycle, I start getting nervous whenever I start feeling good. How frustrating is that?! Thanks for posting the reference, George.

wow, very descriptive! well done Doc. I agree, the totally drained, used, run-over-by-a-car feeling he left out.

"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

That was almost as bad as watching the video, I can almost feel an attack starting. And I'm like Lebowski, I get that incredible euphoria, almost like a narcotic high feeling when it ends. Guiseppi

a nauseatingly familiar read. thanks for posting that George. that feeling of utter exhaustion that some have mentioned gets to me too, leaves me wondering where the energy for the next battle will come from - until pain once again proves itself to be a somewhat more effective 'pick-me-up-and-toss-me-round-the-room' than red bull...
