Hello, I am a 37 year old male, just had my firs episode that started 10 weeks ago and ended a couple of weeks ago, I am wondering if anyone else has ongoing scalp pain a couple of weeks after the headaches have ended ? mine is from on top of the head on the affected side down to the middle of the forehead as well as some pain in the cheek bone under the eye and some intermittent ear pain, Thank you, any help would be appreciated, Tom

Depends. If your getting hit it will hang around. 02 will help. Its part of the shadow. If you can keep from getting up to k5 to k6 it will go away. Sometimes it just hangs around to keep ya on your toes. thebb

Yep, its common to have sore/tender scalp after an attack, or to have shadows that feel like that on the scalp, forehead, and cheek. I get thosenthat last all day even without headache, and consider them shadows (kip 1-3). It sounds like you're still at the tail end of your cycle, experiencing shadows, but no strong attacks. I'm chronic, but I've heard others say shadows can hang around a couple weeks after the last attack before the cycle is completely broken. Have you found something previously that killednshadows for you? Red bull & O2 usually work. For me, timed breathing kills them - 5 counts in, hold 1 count, 5 counts out, hold one count. I fight them down all day that way.

Howdy myowndoc and welcome. The sore scalp hurts big time. During and at the end of a cycle, my scalp feels like it has a very bad sunburn and also bruised like bbz mentioned......hurts to wash and brush my hair, too. I also notice very sensitive gums and teeth on the right side of my mouth (all of my CHs are on the right side) and my right ear feels stuffy with lots of middle ear pressure. For me, this can last a week or so. Hope things continue to calm down for you.
