If it comes regularly after using Imitrex, report to the doc.

If you are using much oxygen, can come from nasal irritation arising from the low humidity of O2.

Get a bubbler for the 02 and drink lot's of water. You need to flush the system anyway with all the dope your putting in it.

It could be coincidence. I don't know where you live, but here in the cold north the air gets real dry.

You know what to do if your nose bleeds more than mildly, right? Pinch you nostrils just below the bony bridge while leaning forward (so the blood doesn't run down the back of your throat). I can't remember for how long, something like 10-15 minutes. Hopefully yours isn't bleeding this bad.

Sorry to hear about your rude awakening on 12/24 after two plus lovely years pf.

The dry NE air this time of year and using my O2 tank keep my nose dry enough to bleed frequently.  Unfortunately it comes with the territory  Undecided  So long as you can get it to stop bleeding quickly, it's not a big deal.  Wish I could be more help.

Mine was bleeding off and on before this cycle started. Think it was just the cold dry air. Check the humidity inside your house that can dry out the sniffer and cause the bleeds.

Be safe and call the doctor/neurologist that prescribed your topamax and imitrex and tell him about your nose bleeds.

You've got a couple options if the nose bleed is coming from dried out nasal passages for some other reason.  There are any number of over the counter nasal moisturizers and gel sprays to help when your nasal passages are too dry...  Ask your local pharmacist for a recommendation.

As far as oxygen therapy being the cause...   I'm chronic and have been using oxygen therapy for over three years and never got a nose bleed from it...  Then again...  we're all different...

If you're fortunate enough to have a Clustermasx, use the mouth tube configuration and give your nose a break...

Take care,

You love lots of things if you live around them. But there isn't any woman and there isn't any horse, not any before nor after, that’s as lovely as a great airplane. Man has one virginity to lose in fighters, and if it is a lovely airplane he loses it to, there is where his heart will forever be.
