Do any of you guys crave junk food while in cycle? I'm usually pretty health conscious but I eat like crap when I'm in cycle.

Count me in... I was just thinking about this connection yesterday. It seems that I get some slight relief from shadows when I eat. I'm already an 'emotional' eater so this creates a perfect storm for weight gain. 10 lbs this cycle. The relief I get is slight and probably has something to do with diverting blood flow to digestion. Then again, it could be all in my head - or was that my stomach -Dennis-

Give me a reason to eat, and I'll eat. Give me junk food, and I'll reason myself fat! Leah.

IMHO. Comfort food. When I am in cycle and miserable, if some junk food is going to make me happy, then I dig in.

I carb load at the beginning of a cycle. After that, I don't eat much...

How much of this might be driven by high doses of prednisone?

Pred definetly makes me eat way too much. But so does being depressed about feeling like sh*t!

During my low points in Spring 2004 I ate lots of crap food: pie, cake, candy, pizza, crisps, chips... When I got back home, I decided: enough! And got rid of all the junk food. I ditched candy and cakes for good, but these days I'll have pizza and crisps every once in a while. Sanna

I wish it were that easy Sanna. I can't tell my kids they can't have snacks so they are always around the house. It's just me and my willpower. Not a battle I usually win. -Dennis-

My beautiful bride just made a great big honkin' 13x9 pan of rich, gooey homemade brownies with the tiny little York peppermint patties (the baking size) mixed in. I'm in cycle, but getting hit very little thanks to my compounding pharmacy and methysergide, but I still crave this stuff. And damn, are they goooooood.

Prednisone makes me eat fast food - which I NEVER normally eat. When me husband found the Burger King bag I told him "The Prednisone made me do it!" And, yes I do think I crave comfort/junk food while in cycle. Doughnuts, cake, brownies.... yum.
