I have had according to my doctor, 3 episodes of cluster headaches. Not all in one day like most of what I am reading. They were about 5 days apart. Started about 3:30am and lasted all day into the evening before subsiding. (Severe pain like I have never had) behind my right eye into my forehead. Eye swollen and tearing and nose running. Is this usual? Having them so far apart? One started after having three drinks out for supper one night about 6:00pm. The headache started at about 3:00 the next morning and lasted all day. I did have a sever sinus infection about 2 months ago. Don't know if that has anything to with it. Had a CT scan and that came back negative. Any info will help. Thanks

This does sound a little unusual, but some of the symptoms sound right.  Did you try the cluster quiz link to the left?  What did that say?  What is the doc trying to do to help you?

It would seem to me that you need a good diagnosis from a headache specialist.  You can search for patient recommended doctors on the OUCH website, again, the link is on the left.

Good luck to you,

Ray

when you say all evening or all day, do you mean the headache is consistent or  that it comes and goes or ramps up and down for hours on end?  Is there any pain free time in there where you feel great for a few minutes?

It's not unusual for me to get slammed, but i have some pain free time in there.

Thanks for the replys so far.
Charotte, My pain is consistant from the begining lasting into the early evening 13-15 hours. I have actually left work because of this and I never do that.

Ray, I did take the quiz. Answered yes to 2 and 8 and no to 14-15. My doctor is going to set me up with some oxygen.

Thanks for reading and listening. I can't imagine what some of you go through having these all the time.

Hope the 02 helps Fish and that you're able to get in and see a specialist.

I sure hope you don't have CH and that whatever you are experiencing is easily treatable. If you do have CH, I sure am glad you found this site...
