Neuro update and Thanks

I saw the neurologist today and he told me that I am not having cluster headaches but instead are having migraines with aura.  He basically said the pain isn't bad enough for them to be clusters.  Apparantly the difference between what I'm experiencing and what all of you experience is the pain level and the freaky neurological symptoms, such as my face tingling, going numb, severe vertigo (to the point of not being able to walk), my hands and legs going numb, etc.  Mine essentially aren't excruciating enough to be labeled clusters.  He has prescribed another preventive medication, prescribed an abortive medication, and talked to me about stroke warning signs.  Apparantly the type of aura I experience can make you have a stroke.  He has told me that I will probably always need preventive medication and wants to see me again in a month.  He said it may take several months to find the right combination of drugs.  Until then I'm praying that the vertigo never hits while I'm driving, especially with my two girls in the car.  He gave me a sample of some abortive medication (don't have the package here and can't remember the name of it) that melts on your tounge to keep with me when I'm out and about.  He also told me to not be afraid to head to the ER if the pain gets too bad.

Thanks so much for the information and help you guys have given me.  I'm praying all of you will have many pain free days soon.  God bless!

I am happy to hear you don't have CH. I also have migraines when I am out of cycle, they can be nagging but always managable compare to CH hits.
Be careful and take your meds  Smiley.

pain free wishes for you too!!

I am so happy to hear you don't have CH.  Migraines suck but you can manage them.  Good luck...
