he has no idea whats wrong with me, may not even be CH?!
I have to have a CT to rule out tumors etc. and he has prescribed me 2 drugs "neoproxin" I think that was the first one, and "vermapril" I think was the second one (sorry if I have names wrong) for help with any attacks before I see him again.
I will keep you guys posted.
Thanks for all the advice though, I felt in control of the appointment and got answers to all my questions.

But hey, he thinks my GP is a complete moron and will be writing to him to tell him how shocked he is at him throwing pills at the problem with not looking further into it! Told me NOT to take anti-depressant I was prescribed as its useless and masks the situation. At least thats a result.

Positive result on the whole then because it sounds like you have found a good neuro who intends to get to the bottom of what is wrong with you and GET you a diagnosis.

If the Dr sent you to a good neuro he/she got one thing right and probably the most important thing!!!

Glad to hear it, keep us posted.

Glad to hear you got to see a Neuro Therasa. Sounds like he is willing to work with you on this. Did you mention o2 to him? Just a suggestion but print off the o2 info on the left of this page and take it with you to show him on your next visit.

How much Verapamil are you taking? My dose is 480mg daily and it is keeping the beast at bay for the most part.

Best of luck to you with your Neuro and hope he helps you.

There is a list of prevents and abortives at the above link.  There are more than there are listed, as the page hasn't been updated in awhile, but it's a place to start.

Give the Verap at least a couple weeks to become an effective preventative (as long as the dosage you were given wasn't too low).  Talk to your doc about O2 as an abortive, after the scan, as O2 (oxygen) seems to help a large percentage of the ch population.

Good luck!
