Sudden errant CH hit schedule + kudzu

Hello, I hope you're all having a good day!

I've been a silent observer, first time poster, and hopefully your expertise can offer some insight...

I've been suffering from CH for about 2 years now, and am on my 3rd cycle, which became chronic, going on 15 months now. After going through the hoops with meds, what seems like everyone's favorite (note the sarcasm), Topamax, finally gave me enormous relief and allowed me to function despite the side effects, from about 8 continuous hits a day to 4 at 50% of the pain. So I say YAY for Topamax!

True to form, the timing of my hits was always something to set my clock by. However, in the last few months, I have been getting some worse attacks again, and as i have been hearing great things about Kudzu, I was thinking about trying it out. But these last few months, the timing of my attacks have been somewhat erratic. Has anyone experienced this, that suddenly your oh-so-predictable ch's are not so predictable anymore? They are around the same time frame, give or take an hour or two, but i can no longer set my watch by it. I don't have any triggers, so this isn't the problem...Anyways, I was wondering how this also might affect taking the Kudzu, since i read that you should take it just before you anticipate a hit. Might it be just as effective if I only take it just in the morning and at night? I must admit, the liklihood of remembering to take it throughout the day before a hit is not strong (I am, after all, on Topamax).

Thanks in advance for your help and I wish you all the best!

Sorry I have no advice on the effect on kudzu as I haven't had to try that route yet, current med regimen is still working...(he says silently knocking on wood with his fingers crossed Grin)......

That being said the one thing most on the board agree with is these things are completely unpredictable. It's what makes the meds and life style changes so difficult to predict as you're never entirely sure if it was something you did or the beast just got into his morphing mode again.

Glad you found something that helps a bit, some kudzu vets will be along shortly I'm sure, good luck!

Hi Mira, welcome.
You should probably take the kudzu at equally spaced intervals throughout the day. This should cover any errant or inexpected attacks.
For example, if you are taking 6 tablets a day...
take 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening, and 2 at bedtime.
Here's an FAQ to look over:

All the best with it, pain free wishes, nani
