You gotta try different formulas - mine..

Hi to all the select few that live with CH. Last week I was starting another Monday ( 6 weeks into this bout), drained from the daily battles with the beast. 5-9's during the night ugly shadows starting about 10AM everyday and felt just plain sshittty.  I have a freind that's being treat at MD Anderson for cancer and has this nutrition guy assigned to him. He had a copy of a book called Prescrptions for Healing by Nutrition. I started a few things after reading about Migraines and CH - this is what I'm doing:
- 2000 mg of  C complex
- 1500 mg of cacium with magnizium
- Multi-vitamin
- no caffine after noon
- no eating after 6 PM
- trying to eat healthy during the day (no chocolate, nuts etc.)
- Melatonin 2-5 mg. about hour before bedtime.
Not saying this a secrete formula, but imediately my CH's dropped to a dull roar for two days and I've been PF since last Wednesday and its safe. I went this route because I was feeling over medicated. I was carrying pocketss full of imetrex ( tips and nasal cr@p), couldn't carry my 02 just anywhere, and just getting pissed off about the whole thing in general.  I could get hammered tonight, but its been a welcome and much needed break - I'm thinking about fishing and shIIT, hell, I  might even smell on an old used beer can by the weekend (not to say I would risk drinking yet , but sure would like to).
Maybe someone can benifit from this combination.
Later my brothers and sisters.........and PF  Smiley

I'm pretty sure he means calcium.  It's usually taken in conjunction with magnesium.  It helps to ameliorate the umm....unpleasant digestive effects that larger doses of magnesium seem to cause.  Plus, my understanding is that magnesium tends to remove calcium from ones system, and replacing it is a good idea.

Best,

So that's why I had all those stomach problems last week when I was taking magnesium Cheesy I thought it was the green tea!

I was only taking 250mg of the magnesium - do you think that would screw up my stomach?

It could.  I don't notice much effect with 250 mg (my usual daily out-of-cycle dose) but 500 mg., and....kablooey.

Try 1000 mg. of calcium.  Might help.

Best,

George

Glad you're pain free. Keep it up.

Could be the diet and vitamins or could be the end of your cycle -- time will tell... but here's hoping you've found something that's working for you.

Quick update:

My cycles usually last 8-12 weeks. Never had a 6 week cycle.  I'll take it.

It was calcium ( sorry, dainbramged from CH - ha..) and believe it or not I'm a Technical write by trade Smiley

I've learned so much from this site, just trying to pay it back, or forward..... If this works for one person, its worth it. GOD knows I've tried everything over the years.. thing is, don't give up.  Later !
