Note from my neuro...

Forgot to mention this after my trip to my neuro.. I asked him about the DHE drip (I've been hearing a lot of you talk about them and really didn't know much about the drips -- I've always had it IV). Anyhow, he said he'd tried the drips on a few patients and found it didn't work as well as the IVs every 8 hours. At least that's the results he'd gotten with it so he didn't use it -- he uses the IVs instead. The way I've used it the last few times I've done it is to have a heplock put in and then have an RN shoot it in every 8 hours (I have an aversion to hospitals and refuse to go to one). My daughter-in-law is an RN and I have a friend who can do it if she's not available and in a pinch I can go to the ER to have it put in (can't do it myself or I would). But if you don't have insurance - that's the cheapest way to do it and you don't have to sit in a damn hospital room for three days waiting on the next installment. I have, in the past had visiting nurses come to the house and put it in. The cost is really cheaper than going to the hospital. Anyhow, I thought I'd let ya'll know what he said -- and he treats a BUNCH of Chers as well as migrainers (he's a migrainer himself). Hugs BD
