When To Give Up ... (RANT = UPDATED)

I'm NOT one to simply give up. NO ... I WILL NOT GO QUIETLY !! So, how is it that the doctors can give up on treating the patient ? HELLO !! I"M STILL HERE AND IT STILL PHUCKING HURTS !!

I was told today ... and I quote ... " ... Tough it out ..."

.."...NO PLAN B.."  ....Diamond Headache Clinic
.."...NO FURTHER SUGGESTIONS.." ....SO IN NEURO CARE
..."...SORRY..."

WTF ??  I ASKED FOR NON-NARCOTIC MEDICATIONS OF ANY KIND !! NO, I DON"T WANT YOUR VALIUM'S !! WHAT DO THEY MEAN ... "GET SOME SLEEP"  ???

WTF JUST HAPPENED ??  I'LL TELL YA ... BOTH DOCS GAVE UP ON TRYING TO HELP ME !!

I still have a small supply of Trex left. As long as I can keep Trex in supply, it won't be total CHAOS . WARNING: When/if the Trex dries up .... The shit WILL hit the fan !

It seems like when it really gets tough - it's every man for himself !

GOODLUCK TO YOU !

Have you been offered Lidocaine to instill in your nostril?  That is something the Diamond clinic did with me and it was sometimes helpful.  Ask if Dr. Seymour Diamond can review your case and offer suggestions.

I suspect that without reported progress, your insurance company has decided to limit your stay.

Keep that chin up, and keep on plugging.

Wishing you the best and relief,

Yes, I been there and done that. I also did their 'Cocaine' drops. It was a nightmare (literally) ... neither helped at all.

World's full of doctors.

If this bunch is giving up on you, maybe it's time to see someone else.  Not trying to be flippant, but what's the use of keeping on with them if they don't have a plan "B"?

As for telling a chronic clusterhead to "tough it out"..... nono

Best wishes,

Why is Diamond Headache Clinic considered best in the country?  Just wondering--what do they do their special?

Unsolved, it is far away from you, but you could try New England Regional Headache Center in Worcester, MA--they are considered one of the best.

I understand my brother - time to shift gears and doctor shop Karla makes a good point. Set up many and make sure every visit you get something different. Then stock pile. Mike, never EVER give up.

As I read through the thread, I was about to post GET A NEW DOC!.  But, found you have already moved on to Diamond.  This is good news.

This proves you haven't given up.  And, for one, I'm happy.

Agreed. Sometimes no medicine is the very best medicine.
It aint easy but its worth a shot. You have tried all the rest it seems. Whats the worst that can happen?

Edit to add: best advice I ever got was from chief of neurology at a major university.  "theres nothing more that we can do for you" this after 20 some years of searching with trial and error, countless dollars spent and many many wise docs around the country. The ten years I chose to be med free was phsycologically better than any single day on medications and far easier dealing with the pain. Yet still there was pain.
