OK. I went to a welding supply store where I got an oxygen tank and they filled it there. It is an old tank. Heck, maybe it's even older than I am. I noticed that the "oxygen info" link says "Welders need pure oxygen in the same way as do hospitals. The inspection of the tanks is the only difference." I wonder if this tank has been inspected anytime recently. Does using an ancient tank bought at a welding shop in Puerto Rico seem dicey to anyone?? Nothing against Puerto Rico, of course, but this IS the place where "doctors" bought their medical licenses after failing their exams, so standards aren't rigidly kept here. Anyway, I am now looking around for a regulator and mask. Fyi, The people at clustermasx - whom I emailed about getting one - said: "Unfortunately we have been having problems with our ordering and payment systems. This means that we are unable at this time to respond to any requests for masks. For now we can only log your request and let you know as soon as we have rectified our problem." Chrz, Andrew

"Welders need pure oxygen in the same way as do hospitals. " They usually refill welder & medical oxygen tank from the same liquid O2 tank. Hopfully the only contamination is nitrogen. Do you have an own tank, right? If you use it only for oxygen and don't store dead fishes in it your tank contais pure oxygen. At the water test they see into the tank - no crack, hole or rust in it. Buy a medical regulator on the ebay or use a welding reg. (It's my second-line tank. IMHO as old as your.) The bubbler is a plastic bottle and here is Mr. Happy's "tempmask": PF, Steve

Steve, That's a remarkable hookah you've rigged up there. You have innovated well, looks like. The tank I got today was loaned to me for a deposit by the welding supply company. I got a small one to see if the 02 therapy will work. As to how clean it is, quien sabe. Best, Andrew

http://www.ouch-us.org/medications/oxygen/o2links.htm At the bottom of the page, download the pdf file--Supplemental Guide to 02 Use. Much excellent information there to help you along the way. Best wishes, George
