When I was in my eposidic cycle I could not drive or get in a car without the beast. I havn't been on a train yet, but I am afraid of the planes since I have gotten head pains when I was not a CH. I have been out of my cycle for about 6 months now, and have only had a couple minor shadows.. I want to take a couple trips in the next few months, but I'm concerned. I know i'd have to get a dr's note for the imitrex, but there's no way they'll let me do the dance on the plane... I need some advise to be willing to fly...so I turn to my family for more advise.. I look fwd to hearing from you all..

you get on board and take the trip! You may or may not get hit but the only way you will take your trip is to utilize one of the modes of transportation. Either that or stay home and either get hit or not. Ya see what I'm saying Pack your jabs and spread your wings

Wife and I planned to leave this am for a my first CH plan trip; Iam not showing up for it. . o2 has been my saviour.... tank at home, tank in the car, and just got a portable compressor for travel ( my US insurance pays 100%). If you use o2, BE SURE to get the airline's acceptonce policy for a portable compressor as carry on. EVERY one is different. I found out the hard way from Jet BLue that I needed paperwork from my Doc... don't have it, so no go. Any way, am not doing great so killing the trip is OK.... 4 attacks again tonight. Sad, because, I went went 10 + yrs w/o CH, after 20 + with the beast.... now it is back big time. Soo, I understand you apprehension, BUT, I would go for it if I were you.

I carry trex on my carry on luggage and have never had a problem. I think I'd sneak into the bathroom to shoot so I wouldn't freak out my seat mate. When I absolutely positively can't get hit, big vacation plans, I go on 60mg a day of prednisone. Provides 100% block. Now my neuro won't give it to me cuz he doesn't like it. Not that I would encourage such behavior but friends, relatives and aquaintances who are prescribed this med have been known to inadvertantly leave it behind at my residence when they leave. NOT A LONG TERM MED! Many serious potential side affects but it will provide a nice short term break. Guiseppi

When I took trex, I had no problems taking it on a plane with me. And if I couldn't get to the bathroom the hell with my seat mates - let 'em stare. Of course, I'm just the kind of person who don't give a damn when I'm hurtin'. CAUTION: I would, however, have a "note" from my doc saying, "This person suffers from CH and carries injectible meds with him/her and self injects." That stops a lot of backtalk. Take your trip and don't let the beastie win..... Hugs BD
