This has been my experience of late. My clusters have been bitchy lately, I've been having anywhere from 8 to 12 attacks per day. On the most severe attacks my "face" on the right side (cluster side) droops from my eye to my lip. I also experience numbness on the same side from my cheek to my jaw. Also if I touch that area when its like that I get the pins and needle feeling with sharp pain. edit to add: when the cluster disapears, my face returns to its normal ugly self. I'm just curious if anybody else had this happen, its a first for me with the pins and needle sensation when I touch my face. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Sorry to hear you're having so many attacks lately Sean. That really sucks I guess during a bad attack, my face may feel a little numb after a few minutes ... I think it's just because of the amount of pain I'm in. I know that too much Trex will give me a pins & needles feeling ... often feels like I'm sunburnt too. Do you get these feelings after you take Trex or do you get them without the Trex too ? If it's only happening after you take Trex, maybe it's time to lower the dose again (?) Goodluck & ... Care package on it's way UNsolved

I'm currently also battling about 8-12 per day - all kip7-9. My face has similar symptoms and my skin near my scalp is very sensitive. My eyelid is permanently droopy now but worse when I have the headaches. I have not experience the pins and needles, however, its inevitable that within the next half hour I'll have a chance to check Has anyone lost their appetite? I'm usually a greedy piggy but just cannot face food. On the upside, maybe I'll lose a bit of weight!!

My eyelid is mildly droopy on the side that I get hit on more often than not. But I personally think you should call your doc. After a particularly bad time with clusters and migraines the docs think I had a TIA (which is a mini stroke or stroke warning) where my face went numb on one side, I had difficulty speaking and using my hand on that side, etc. Just ... well wouldn't ya rather be safe than sorry?!!!

When I'm getting hit... I don't have the pins and needles effect, but when the hit is over, that side of my face is numb, especially around my eye, and down into my cheek, it kind of follows my cheekbone back. It lasts for awhile. I also have a droopy eye, and that side of my face sags slightly. I told my neuro, and he said this is normal due to the pain. It lasts for awhile, though I've never timed it. It hurts to touch my eyebrow bone, and cheek bone, and also when I touch my eye, through my eyelid... very painful in between hits. Sean, I am realsorry to hear that you are getting hit so often and hard As to the rest yes I sometimes get the numbness as the hit is going away and I have always thought it is due to how hard I press on the t-nerve area and beat that side of my face up. <<<<vibes>>>> for a break for ya soon......Tim

i have experinced all of that and worry about stroke or even anuruzms exspecialy sense before i found this site i found one for migrains and a doctor on it said people with migrains are 25% more likely to have a sroke and he balieves migrains are a vascular desease and the headache is just a symptom, anyway just feel its probably the same for clusters if he is correct, maybe we should be on a babyasprin a day for prevention,or is that just for heartataches?sorry your having so many a day.3 is many for me.I try not to be to peranoid about it cause all the possibilities brings ya down and i just try to have faith

Take the cluster quiz. Doesn't sound like it to me but ya never know Seriously though, @ Dalcon, a study was being conducted regarding facial pain. I forgot the term but maybe someone will jump in or I can find it on the OUCH board. They tested our cluster side with light touch and there were several who experienced pronounced discomfort and or pins and needles just from a light grazing of the flesh. Anyway, I hope ya catch a break my brother and go get your noggin checked

| The study was on Allodynia. Sorry to hear you are getting pounded,Sean. When I get hit like that, my right eye and cheek area feels like it's drooping. Sometimes it almost feels like a weight taped to my face pulling it down. At it's worst, even the right side of my mouth doesn't work and I kind of talk out of the left side of my mouth. Edited to add: No pins & needles feeling, but I do get a bruised feeling around my right eye, forehead and temple. I think it's just because of pressing on that area so hard during the attacks, though.

I was wondering does anyones scalp feel soft to the touch and every little hair hurt. After and ch goes away. I have had the tingle thing in my face a few times after a bad ch. Where it start in the nose or side of face and travels to the left side of my forehead. I remember that my fingers were also numb. I thought it was strange.
