This is weird... I was having my headaches on a regular basis, waking me up every night until early morning. However, I recently caught strep throat and during the worse of it, I wasnt getting my headaches! Now my strep throat is gone and my headaches are back... What gives? You guys think its just coincidence?

I had to delurk to chime in on this one. For the last two cycles, whenever I've gotten sick, my Clusters go on hiatus. And then as soon as I'm better, they come back. I have no idea why that is, nor do my doctors. Normally when I get sick, I do everything I can do get better fast. But now, when I'm in cycle, I do everything to prolong the sickness. Anyone else like this?

I have chronic CH and get no relief when I have another illness-I would gladly trade my CH pain for a week or two of strep throat. I'm glad that your strep throat is gone and sorry that your CH pain returned.

Yep, me too. For over 30 years when in cycle, if I got a cold or the flu, my ch would stop until the other problem cleared up. Then the ch would come back with a vengeance. Right now I've been pf for 2 and 1/2 years. Don't know why but I'm lovin' it. The Old Man

This is purely my guess based on what I have seen in people who are not CHers: during stressful times ( such as infections or other illnesses) the body produces more cortisol which is the natural steroid to boost the immune system for the fight or flight response. Maybe its this increase in cortisol that suppreses the beast? Maybe too it explains why many people here say " always stay stressed, dont relax! "

Hello Everyone: Just to add my 2 cents... Over 20 years of CH, whenever I am sick, which thankfully is rarely, I still get whacked by the beast. I was particularly pathetic with a bad flu some years ago, when something was either coming back up or down (need I paint a finer picture?) and having 8 CH a day. I didn't leave the house for over a week. Wishing you PF days and nights, Ray
