How many of you....

have had a history of migranes and clusters as well? There seems to be alot of discussion on the relationship between the two. Do the majority of us have both types of headaches? I started getting migranes at age 4-5 and they ended shortly before I got my first episode of CH. I have only had a couple of migranes since CH. Just curious. Aubmari

My husband never had a headache in his life and couldn't imagine what they were - actually started thinking people were making them up since he had never experienced one - until age 33 when CH started

The only health problems I ever had was pleurisy (spelling?) when I was 12, the ch started at about 18. Have never had migrains. (Don't know what I'd do with a headache that went 24 hours, owie!) Guiseppi

Never had ANY headaches until CH -- now I've developed Arthritic Migraines. Well, all my ailments are in my head! Family history of migraines on my dad's side. Thought I'd missed those, but .... None of them hit me till after menapause. Maybe it's a payback for my misspent youth. Hugs BD

I never had headaches at all. I could bang my head hard, get hungover and everything else and never get a headache. Never had a migraine. No-one in my family is diagnosed with migraines, but my sister gets headaches that last for days. Its possible she does have migraines.

Never had bad headaches. Had the ones when I wasn't feeling well and when I had a sinus thing. Those were far and few between. Not until the early part of the 90's did the CH hit. My pops and sister would have migraines that would last days. I think it was a condition my dad has and my sister gets them just because she's an evil wench spawned by Satan and is probably the next Anti Christ. That last one was just a theory, but I bet science could prove me right!

As a kid (879 years ago) I used to have a lot of tension type headaches. I had two or three a week. But aspirin (back then, chewing willow bark) took care of them. Funny thing is, since I started clusters, 28 years ago, I have not had one tension headache! Hmmmm .... Chuck

I have migraines and no CH. Daniel has both. He gets auras with his migraines but not with his CH. CH is much worse. Migraine pain is humanly bearable. CH pain is not. Annette

| This may be a fine point, but I beg to differ. Although I have never had a DNA test to confirm that I am human, I have borne the pain of CH for more than 16 years and I'm still here posting this evening.

| No history of migranes here.... only CH. Brew -- Perhaps CH'ers are the next step in human evolution.... as a rule, I think the average Cluster head's IQ is higher than the general population ... thus the need for the extra blood supply for our grey matter.... <just kidding>

Don't get tension headaches. Have never had a migraine--only episodic CH. I very rarely get a sinus headache, usually when the weather changes rapidly. But those aren't even worth mentioning to anyone, so I don't. "You call that a headache?................" "THIS is a headache." Best, George

No Migraines... No family history of Migranes, CH, other recurring headache types or even sinus issues... Until my mid. 30's I was the type that didn't give much credibility to those suffering from recurring headaches. Then one day CH decided it was time to change my opinion of the subject. BTW, after CH had entrenched itself, I once contracted West Nile Encephalitis and experienced 11 straight days of continous/very extreme headache. Mirgraines may be no picnic, but from my experience even Encephalitis doesn't deliver the show-stopping pain of CH attacks. Tom

Just CH's and the occasional stress/tension headache. Though like many, I was misdiagnosed with migraine for many years. Thank God I finally found a headache clinic. Up till then (15years) I had no treatment other then imitrex tablets. If I ever see that old neuro again, God help me!
