Fuzzy vision on affected side

I have been out of cycle for a couple weeks. On Thursday I experienced a kip1 hit that lasted about 15 minutes. On Friday, around the same time, the vision on my right side (the afflicted side) went blurry for a couple minutes. I have been experiencing this loss of vision for quite some time. Is this CH related? Does anyone else experience this strange phenomena? Donnie

Nope. Maybe it is time you quit self diagnosing, and go see someone who knows what they are talking about with head problems. Chuck

Actually this has happened to me a few times recently. I really doubt it's CH related, but it is on my CH side.

Maybe your eye started watering and tearing and that made your vision blurry. Other than that I have never had blurry vision during an attack Hope its notheing serious. good luck chrisw

| Huh? Was diagnosed with CH in 1993-94. Remission of 9-10 years made me forget the diagnosis. Been searching for an answer since 2003. Cried when I read the testimonies opening CH.com. Finally, finally had found someone who understood what I was going through. I am not sure what you are telling me? It sounds like you are telling me to look elsewhere because I don't have CH?

| I don't think thats what Chuck was saying. Changes in vison can be a sign of something serious. Get to a Dr and find out. Assuming everything is related to ch can be dangerous. Beth

| Oh, THIS is the latest story? Hmmm .. That is different from your introduction: on Mar 24th, 2007, 2:18pm, pieface_49 wrote:... I believe I have found the answer. CH came about by reading "Trigeminal Neuralgia, Fighting Back" and by talking with a Health Coach provided by my health insurer. ... ... My journey with CH began in 1993, age 33. At that time I was rushed to an emergency room a couple times. The mysterious ailment disappeared, not to surface for another 10 years. I must state the diagnosis I have at this point in time is a self diagnosis. ... ... ... ... Why has the Dentist, Gum specialist, Neuralogist's and Doctors not been able to diagnose my condition is beyond me. ... ... ... After visiting the Doctor's office this morning with my revelation, I once again walked away a little dismayed. I would have thought he would have had a blood test taken, but he did not. Time will tell if it is truly CH. |
| And MORE SELF diagnosis from the same post: on Mar 24th, 2007, 2:18pm, pieface_49 wrote:What brought me here was Sphenopalatine Neuralgia, another self diagnosis after reading about the illness. The symptoms of Sphenopalatine Neuralgia are very close to describing what I have. |
| Those were not MY words, they are yours. You need to get which story you are going put forth, and stick to it. on Mar 24th, 2007, 2:18pm, pieface_49 wrote:I am looking for help and guidance and through time, hopefully I can help someone else. |
| We ARE here to help. But we need the truth, not a story that morfs and changes as posts go along. If you have clusters, fine, we are here to help. But by your own words, you have NOT been diagnosed by anyone but yourself! You need to find out, officially, what you have, before you can portray yourself as the expert, you are trying to do now. I agree with Beth. I get blurry vision but only cuz I drive my knuckles into my eye when I'm really rocking. Eyes are a window to the brain, when you start getting un explained reactions like blurry or double vision, you need to see a doctor to make sure it's nothing serious! Hoping it's a nothing burger but certainly needs to be looked at. Guiseppi

Dude, No one wants to discourage or insult you or minimize your symptoms-we want you to get to a good doctor and get a real diagnosis. My eye sight on cluster side does get blurry and odd, but that's due to the pressure that my hand is applying to it. Best wishes for PFDAN, kathy

I found the answer. Being out of cycle, and dealing with the rebound headache, I am experiencing what is written here. Quote:"Migraine sufferers experience what is called an 'aura'. This is a sensation that warns them of a Migraine attack. An aura may be a visual sensation (e.g. blurred vision, flashing lights, spots in front of the eyes), difficulty speaking or numbness or tingling sensations. Auras occur about one hour or less before the Migraine starts." |

Donnie, I have been having migraines with and without pain for over 20 years. I get them with and without auras. When I have an aura, my vision is disturbed by sparkly lightening bolt type flashing in one or both eyes that lasts from 5 to 30 minutes. What is odd, is that I never experience migraine pain when I have an aura. I had no clue what was going on with my vision until I visited the Opthamologist. I have never had any vision disturbances with ch other than from tearing and the pressure I put on my eye. The aura is typical with migraines, not so typical with ch. Get to a Dr and let him diagnose. Changes in vision should not be self diagnosed. Beth

Happens to me very often at Kip 4 and up. Dr. visits and test indicate that it is a spasm of a vein touching the optic nerve behind the crossover point. Prognosis was annoying but non hazardous to eyesight. That's me only... See a Doc ......Tim

It’s possible that it may be caused by preventative drugs, read the drug warnings on the pill bottles. Being PF is better than a little blurred vision. Go to the Ophthalmologist for an eye checkup. The Depakote did the same thing to me on the affected side. I really noticed it right after the Depakote kicked in for a couple hours. Great that your PF, I’m at 5 days now myself, and hoping for many more! Roland

If you're having vision problems, you need to see an opthomologist ASAP. Do you really want to take chances with your sight? Yes, I have them. They were diagnosed as ocular migraines.

| I've been diagnosed with these as well. They are (for me) painless, and I get a strange shimmering/glistening, roundish worm-like deal in the middle of my field of vision. It slowly expands, moving toward the outer portions of my field of vision over the course of about 20-30 minutes. Happens about once every 2-3 months, and I can see it whether my eyes are open or closed. My opthamologist says they're harmless, but one should still be checked out to make sure that's what it is (and not something more serious).

| My bad I misread that post. When my CHs are out of control (right before I go in for Histamine Desensitization) I get blurred vision on my affected side it only lasts the duration of the CH.I'm very lite sensitive so for most of my CH my eyes are closed with an ice pack on my head, and blurred vision probably is cause of watering eyes and the pressure I put on my temple. I had some optic nerve damage when I had that surgery back in 99. When I'm having bad shadows (or migraines) my vision blurrs on the left side. It's aggraviating, but the doc said "live with it". I get checked ever so often and complain, but it's just there and nothing they can do about it. To be on the safe side -GET IT CHECKED. Eye doc probably needs his house payment this month too... 95% of my hits happen in a dead sleep but for the 5% that happen while I am awake I have noticed similar symtoms quite often. I find that I lose depth perception on my right side which is the side I get hit on. Sometimes my vision blurrs or it is like I see static going across part of my eyeball, kinda like what you see when you change channesl to a tv station that has gone off the air.
