Glad to hear you finally have insurance, but at the same time ... I feel sorry for all of you that have to wait like that. It's ridiculous !! I call my doc and say I need to see him and soon and they get me in right away. It should be like that for all ! But then again, I guess I do have the best docs that money can buy ! UNsolved

One time during a ch cycle, I called my neuro, and they said he didnt have anything open for a while, I told her that I needed to see the doc today, and that I was coming in today, whether she okd it or not. I just kept saying, "I need to see the doctor today" over and over, and she got me in that day. i guess I sounded desparate, or scary or something, but hey, what ever works . Why dont you try being forceful or desparate, maybe it will work. Sometimes I think doctors forget that they are working for us, we are not working for them. we are paying them to perform a service, not really any different than paying an auto mechanic (except of course, our bodies and health are a little more important than our cars). give it a try, the worst they can say is no. best wishes chrisw

I left two neuro's because of this. But what I did do is tell them I had clusters and by the time they saw fit to fit me into their schedule I would either be dead or out of cycle they could pick. I was seen the next day. Most of the people that are maning the phones have no idea what is going on they just take appointments. I worked for many years for Dr's and I know they keep appointments open for just this very reason. If they won't work with you then find another Dr. that will. Sami

During my most recent cycle I called the Neuro's office in dire need of assistance. I was even told I would have to see my GP and the GP would have to make the appointment. Upon leaving the GP's office I looked at the appointment and it was 5 weeks out. I hollered at the nurse telling her I cannot take 5 more weeks of this hell. I apologized and left the GP's office. Immediately I called the Neuro's office and in tears said I was in dire need of help NOW. "Sorry, Sir, we have no immediate appointments open". I then stated I was on my way and would sit there all day until someone noticed me. "Sir, I will ask the Doctors what we can do.". An hour later the Neuro's office called and told me to come in 4 days later for a 9pm appointment.
