My appreciation has been renewed...

For how bad it really is... I had a headache in HiDef last night. I was out of O2 and a shot of imitrex backfired on me. It was as bad as any headache I've ever had. A K10 intensified with trex resulting in a 2-3 hr headache with 3 or 4 hrs of residual glass and nails dancing around in my head. Then without ever going away it started to fire back up again and I hesitantly used a trex spray... And I just can't thank God enough for letting it end. And I can't thank DJ and all of you enough either! This really woke me up! Since I found this place I've had O2, and people have helped me battle the beast in so many ways, I had become complacent in my bliss of having my headaches managed relatively well. I just can't believe how much it hurt! I forgot how extremely intense the pain can be. I almost went to the hospital, and I swore off hospitals for CH years ago! It was like the perfect storm in my head! Damn... Thanks everyone!!!

You poor guy.......a 2-3 hour headache? How did you get through it? The longest and worst HA I ever had lasted about an hour and that seemed like an eternity. It was when I first started gettting these things and I had nothing to fight them with. I was eating Advils by the handful and of course they did nothing for the pain. I was pacing around the bedroom as fast as I could, yelling various obscenities and beating my fists on the walls (to the point where I punched a hole in the sheetrock and had to repair it later). The pain kept increasing in a sort of stair step fashion....it would reach a higher level and level off and then increase another notch and level off again. I kept thinking that it couldn't get any worse and then it would. When it finally ended, I was exhausted. I swore that I was going to get something from a doctor to combat these HAs.......I wasn't going to go through that again. Yes, thank goodness for this website and the people who post here. The information and support has made dealing with these HAs much easier than wandering alone in the wilderness of ignorance. Rich

It's amazing how the human brain only wants to remember pleasurable experiences and wants to block the painful ones.

Sorry you are back in cycle. You were one of the first who told me to get oxygen back in 04. I came here a desperate newbie finally having found the answer to what had been haunting me for years. The cycle never broke; now 3 yrs but this place has given me solace and strength. Best to you and may it be quick! E

Yeah, E I remember when you had 10 posts... Looks like you've taken over as the advice giver. Good job... For some reason after I got a laptop my BBS addiction sort of died off. Kinda weird cuz I used to spend about 8 hrs a day on here. I've been back in cycle for I don't even know how long... Over a year and a half I'm pretty sure. But it doesn't really get worth talking about till the last 3rd which I'm in now. I'm looking forward to the day, hopefully sooner than later I can pack my tank away in the closet again for a yr or 2. My wife doesn't like the way it looks in the living room. My only concern is my remissions over the years I've noticed are getting shorter, so I fear I may someday be joining the real clusterheads and just have on big cycle for the rest of my life. But after last night, as long as I have abortives, a family who as helpless as they are, but that cares, and the support I find around here, I'll feel alright about it. If I didn't have those things and had to face attacks like the one last night with any regularity at all, I'd kill myself. And that's no joke. I'm gonna write a love song about my oxygen tank. Keep up the good work getting the newbies on track!

Yeah, it would be cool to put some graphics on it or something, maybe some flames, like "Pimp My Tank"! Of course then the guys at the welding supply would REALLY start looking at me wierd when I go to turn in my pimped out tank! Or put some fins on it, make it look lie a bomb and hang it from the ceiling. Wow. I think I got that weird buzz from ambien that occasionally happens when I take it. Havin a hrd time typin, or typo'n I should say... Nighty night. Got a spray up my nose, one on the bedside, the clustermasx is primed and reay to go... nightynight beast. Don't even bother messin with me. You had your fun last night! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
