plane flights a trigger?

Hello, I am new here, and have asked alot of questions, and everyone has been sooo helpful. I felt that maybe I should TRY and give something back. I have had three instances where flying has caused me to go into cycle, at least I beleive it had. The first time I flew away for the weekend, and one day after I got home, I started a cycle. I did not relate the two at the time. After the second time, which was approx. 1 year later, I again started. I became curious about it so I did some research and found that high altitude can sometimes trigger a cycle. With this new found info in hand, I still made the stupid mistake to fly a third time , but it was for a very good reason. I just wanted to pass this info along to anyone else new out there like me, and to see if anyone else has had any similiar experiences with flying. Or maybe i am just totally off base here!

I can tell you for sure I've had some terrible "landing" headaches like my entire skull is going to implode. It's happened driving down mountains, too, but never to the same extent. Incidentally, the only silly question here is the one you should have asked but didn't.

I fly alot between Louisville & Chicago and have never had a problem. It's a short 1 hour flight. I've never had an attack while in the air. PF Wishes ~ UNsolved

I fly fairly often and it has never triggered a cycle. I got hit once while in a State Police helicopter but I think having a drug sniffing K-9 strapped in behind me had something to do with it.

My initial experience with CH came while landing after a flight from Pittsburgh to Houston. The pain was so extreme that I thought I had an aneurism and wasn't going to live to see the ground. It cleared soon after I began walking off the plane but I've been dealing with this nightmare ever since. Even though I've traveled by plane numerous times since and fear repeating the experiece I have not experienced the wonders of flight enduced CH agian. Best Wishes, Tom

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space.

It is for me. My only shot of Trex in the last year was in a hotel in Atlanta as soon as I checked in. I was not even remotely shadowing in the weeks before that. It came on somewhat slowly, unlike a normal CH, leaving you thinking 'now wtf is this?' but it hit that unmistakable mark. It has happened to me 3 times now to some degree.

| Could they flying be a coincidence? Us episodics tend to cycle at the same time of the year every year, 2 years, etc. Your two episodes started at the same time, 1 year apart.... I fly a TON for work and have never had it trigger a cycle. While in cycle, yes I get hit, but I tend to drink a lot of coffee and not sleep while on the plane. My flights can be 2.5 hrs (florida to NY) to 9 hrs (florida to Argentina). We're all different. As Ex2 said, CHit happens. PF wishes.

I'm episodic, but have no cycle to speak of. My CH is random. Flying does trigger a CH for me....not a cycle, but a single CH hit. It happens on the big jets...the ones that climb to high altitudes. Smaller planes are no problem for me. Jean

The 2 times I've gotten hits on a plane were when I was stupid enough to stop in the lounge on the way to the plane and have a beer so "I could sleep better" on the flight..... And then I found this place..... Scott
