Broke my ImiTrex Fix

I was using 6 shots every 10 days for the last year. I realized part of my CH that was coming on after I would go to bed was related, to my caffine intake during the day, and when I would take my Topamax, also imitrex rebounds. Ive gone 13 days with no need for imitrex,(I have had a coulple kip 5-7 that I could deal with) Im on 75mlg morning and 75 night topamax, what I have done is take 25mlg at 5am-6--7 then do the same at night 25 mlg at 5pm - 6- 7- (I work early) My problem was taking it all at once, would give me a slight HA for some reason, or have no effect at all when I went to bed, Dont ask me why? Like all of you we just experment with doses till something works. Im also on 720 mlg verapamil split daily. At the cost of the imitrex even though I have co-pay( I hope my remision continues, Sleep is wonderfull. BIGRED

Glad you're getting some sleep ... I'm a night hit person and that is the worst part ... sleep deprivation. Pleasant dreams !!

I'm happy for you and I hope you can go totally pain free soon. In the mean time, if you have good insurance and decent co-pays (and can afford it), I would continue to stock up on trex, even if you don't need it right now. Heaven forbid, but there are those times when you need more than you can get. Stocking up in the good times will get you through the bad times. Good Luck!

Good for you. The prevention was there but putting the pieces together right solves the puzzle. I've altered timing similarly for best results. Like Gator says though, the times it wants to "fluctuate" can be a new puzzle and keeping stocked helps until it's figured out again. Hope this works for you a long time. on Feb 14th, 2007, 9:36pm, bigred wrote: Ive gone 13 days with no need for imitrex,(I have had a coulple kip 5-7 that I could deal with) |

Thanks for all the good vibes, I know what you mean by keeping stocked. Just when you think you have enough, the beast hits you twice in one day and your supply that is restricted as it is goes to critical before your next refill. You dont want to be caught with one shot left and three days to go before your refill is allowed. THAT SPELLS TROUBLE!!! Thanks my good freinds. Bigred
