Bac to Doc/ Cycle over?

I am going to the doctor today to talk about the limited success I've had with the triptans he prescribed last time. Besides nopt always working for my evening hits, most of hits have come on during sleep lately. When I wake with them I've had no luck with oral triptans. I want to push for O2. But I feel like my cycle is about over. Should I get O2 if it's going to sit around for (hopefully) 2 years until my next cycle. Last week I thought the cycle was done after 4 PF days. Then I got slammed repeatedly with night hits.

http://www.headachedrugs.com/pdf/ha2006.pdf Dr. Robbins site. Then explore the entire site by deleting everything following. com/ and then hit enter. ======================================================================== = Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S. (2002) http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf =========== Re. Oxygen: while many folks have had good success what is often overlooked are reports that an unknown % of users find that O2 gives quick relief but the headache returns quickly after you stop using it. If you have never used it, it would make sense to wait until your next cycle and then arrange for a rental trial (vs. buying equipment) until you see how your body reacts.

Just a follow to the last....When I first tried oxygen I was one of those who would get hit again, even harder, about 10-20 minutes after turning off the oxygen. It would completely abort the first hit ijn 3-8 minutes, but the return one would be harder to stop until the oxygen wouldn't work anymore. Now when the headache starts I pop an oral cafergot, then start the oxygen. generally in less then 10 minutes the headache is beaten down, then the cafergot will usually buy me 12 hours of pain free time. Not 100% effective but then what is! Guiseppi
