Does this horror ever end? Does anyone know of a person who has simply stopped having CH's? Do you reach an age when you outgrow them? I am on my 23rd year and I have about had it.

Scott, the only reason they stop with age is to make room for all the new disorders which are coming down the pike! Literature is scanty on the question of age. Have seen a couple of anectodal reports which suggesting a downward movement around 60+. I'm almost 71 and haven't had an attack in about 4-years (which is too bad [?]) because it was back then that I discovered how effective Zyprexa was for me to abort an attack.

It ends when the hypothalamus decides to work properly again. It doesnt seem like there is anything anyone can do to make it happen though. Mother nature ! Just like the weather, it rains when it wants to! Painfree wishes to you. Annette

I am chronic and got hit 8x/day all 10's all year long. It was like this for 6 years. I tried every medicine on the market known and unknown to help migraines and clusters. After 35 meds I finally found one that worked as a preventative and it has keept me ch free for the last 3 years. Read up here on the site for things and medicines people have tried and you may find something that you havent tried yet that may work for you! Good luck.

I've been getting them for about 35 years so far. Aged 53 and they started at 19. About every 12-18 months for 3-4 weeks at a time. The last two batches were on the right side (usually on the left) and have not been as severe.

Several have gone into remission, but as far as them ending -- never heard of that except in a couple of cases (Donna H). I've been chronic since 97 and sometimes I can go several weeks without getting a hit and then I may have them everyday for months... just quit trying to worry about when the next one is going to hit. It will when it gets ready. Just enjoy the PF time when you have it and live thru the rest. Hugs BD

I was snow plowing towards 50 thinking that might be the magic age when they stopped. Then Sailpappy.........who I believe is almost as old as dirt.......burst my bubble when he said he's hoping for a break around his 115th birthday! The best advice has already been given, embrace the pain free times, stay strong and kick ass when the beast returns. And post a lot!!!! Guiseppi
