Dare I say It???

It seems this cyle is finally starting to abate. It has been one long and painful ride...for myself and my fam...

This is what I tried. Not trying to say it ended the cycle but it definitely seemed shorter...last week was a killer and Tuesday night my wife took me to the emergency room. The emergency room in turn sent me to a Pain Mgt. Doc...great guy in Meadowbrook, Pa. Anyway the doc gives me three blocks 1) Occipital block 2) Trigeminal block and 3) Ophthalmic nerve block. Number 2 & 3 were not fun and in a very sensitive spot but a lot better then a cluster. Doc also gave me a steroid taper (Medrol).

Now I was at the apex of the cycle...2 or 3 a day and everyone a scalp burner...anyway I didn't get a cluster the rest of the day (Wednesday) but they came back at 2am on Friday but not as painful. Got another on Saturday at around 1pm but it was barely worth mentioning...just a little shadow. Did not get another until this morning and it definitely seemed like Cluster's last stand...You know the one's I mean Painful but no stuffed nose or watery eye.

Hopefully this is it or close to it. Not saying the blocks stopped the cycle as it could of been ending anyway...but I would definitely try the blocks again during my next cycle.

PS...Thanks Wendy & Eric for the info on Maxalt...

Of course I was skeptical

I can't believe that I have to bang my

But the blows they have just a little more
Space in-between them
Gonna take a breath and try again.

Sounds like a good report Jimmy. Let's hope it is clusters last stand!

One thing that worries me though ... the blocks you've had ... one or more contains steroids ... and you've had a week long dose of Medrol ...

I'm just hoping that it's not just the steroids keeping the beast at bay.

With me, I can take steroids to stop the beast ... but he ALWAYS returns  Lips Sealed

Goodluck & keep us posted in the next week or so
