Hi, everyone.  I'm back.

I doubt any of you will remember me.  I haven't been here in a while.  I was pretty depressed and desperate the last time I was here, but thanks to all of you, I found some life-saving tips.  In fact, I went into remission shortly after arriving here.  It was a great, pain-free year-and-a-half.

But it's over.  The CH's came back on my trip home for Christmas.  Not really the present I was looking for, but what are you going to do?  I knew it was stupid, but I just couldn't avoid hoping that the headaches were over.  Bad time, too--I started a new job when I got back, and had to ask off for a neurology appointment on my first day.  At least everyone seems understanding so far.  I came on to print the "Simon's Letter," and will probably hang out here for a while.

I've never had such a long remission--in fact, for most of the 20 years I've had them, I've been chronic.  So, I just thank God that I was able to have such a long, beautiful rest period.  And pray that another will come along soon . . .

I also pray that all of you can experience that kind of relief someday.

Welcome back.

I'm episodic, with cycles lasting anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks, and then beautiful 18 to 24 month remissions.

I gained so much knowledge, and made so many new friends at this site, that I stuck around even during my remissions, in the hopes that I might be able to give back some support to those who supported me while in cycle.

Why not stick around for awhile?  We're all here, and we're not going anywhere.  Get to know us.  We don't bite (at least not often  Grin)

Of course we remember you.  We were just hoping to never hear from you ever again.

Sorry you had to come back, but welcome home.

I finished a 2.5 year remission last spring. Like you I hid from the board when I was off cycle, I didn't even want to think about the beast when I was off cycle. Linda Howell finally convinced me the board doesn't cause a cycle to start!!!

I've made a commitment to stick around off cycle and help where I can. I don't have the knowledge a lot of guys do, like E-Double and Floridian, I swear after reading some of their posts I thought they were doctors! But I have enough personal experience that other people can learn from, poisitive and negative! So stick around for this cycle, we'll help any way we can, then stick around after it ends, maybe you'll become someones lifesaving post~! Welcome back.

Thanks, everyone, for the welcomes.  Yeah, I guess I was in some denial during the remission . . . visiting would have reminded me of something I'd rather forget.  I'll try to come around more often.

One thing I can offer . . . there is hope for a break, even for chronics!

Glad you had the remission and sorry you're back in cycle.

Sticking around during remission is something a lot of us recommend (I know I know -- you'd rather not think about CH when you're not getting hit). You might just help someone else and that's the purpose of this board.

Some of us have been around since 98 and whether we're hurting or not - we come here to HELP others.

One short story -- at a convention this man came up to me and told me he came to convention to meet me. I guess I looked a little puzzled. Then he said, "You saved my life." Seems he was getting ready to take the final step (suicide) and I sent him an e-mail and chewed him out really well (apparently). He said by the time he finished reading my e-mail he was laughing so hard that he decided to stick around. Any time I think about not coming here I think of him and I'm right back on here.

Think about it -- stay around when not in cycle and see what kind of support you can give others who aren't so lucky.
