I am so frustrated that my doctor doesn't understand my headaches, they are everyday. I always thought they were sinus headaches until I started researching them. Does anyone know of a good clinic for this type of condition. I live in Delaware.

Thanks in advance

Ask your doc for a referral to a neurologist who specializes in headaches.  If he doesn't, check the links on the left for a neuro in your area.

Take the "cluster quiz" located at the left of this screen.

   Tkline,

The only "sufferer recommended "  doctor in Delaware is....

Sung Ho Bae
Wilmington

I also suggest that you stick around here and read everything here, especially the links to the left.  After you do that you may just well be MORE informed than  most Dr.s on the subject of cluster headaches.

If you can would you describe them to us and tell us of your experiences?

After my regular doc's struggle with me, his first neuro referral diagnosed clusters but the treatment was dismal.  Three years ago I found the major hospital chain of this area had built a professional building, "Chronic Headache and Migraine Institute", and I was one of the first to attend, which didn't even need a referral.  The neuros there were well familiar with CH and it helped immensely.  My first appointment I walked out with scripts for verap, O2 and trex, no problem, with a couple weeks of recording hits on the paperwork they sent me before the first appt, though diagnosis is good to have first I'd imagine otherwise a longer examination time would probably be required.
Check to see if one is in your area related to any major hospital chain in a populated area, it may be a recent addition.

could even be in the yellow pages.

I am not good with my computer but i'm learning.

My headaches seem to be seasonal always worse in the fall and winter. They start and won't stop I always thought they were sinus. My eyes hurt to move them. It feels as if my head is in a vice that is around my eyes and the base of my skull. I have been put on every antihistamine and nothing helps. I have seen an ear nose and throat specialist who says my sinus look good. I have recently had a brain MRI and sinus cat scan. Everything is fine. My primary doc put me on Maxault, this only help a little bit and my insurance will only let me have 15 tabs a month. ( it would only last a week taking a twice a day as prescribed)  I finally went on line and order fiorcet, this was prescribed to me 10 yrs ago when they said it was migraines.

When I take the test comparing migraines to cluster headaches it seems as if I'm having cluster headaches. I have had this pattern for many years. It will but I never know when and suffer until they do.  I have an appt. with a neurologist on the 19th but I am so fed up with doctors. They did put me on inderal (spelling?) Did not help just made me tired like the fiorcet.

What else can I try?   Thanks Cry

Document things until the appointment.  Time, (start, finish), intensity, preceding symptoms, medication, and relief, as it came.

Please save the Fioricet til the next time you have to have a tooth pulled or something like that.   These kind of drugs will not help you.

If you haven't already.... read all the links to the left which I highly  recommend you do...there are preventatives you can try, like Lithium, verapamil, etc. ....abortives like Imitrex, pure 02, strong coffee or energy drinks, cold packs to the neck, etc.
