clusters following pregnancy

Is it common to get an episode of clusters right after a pregnancy?  I didn't get any during my pregnancy and right after I delivered (the following day) I got hit and have been getting hit since.  Is this normal?

Congratulations!!
I had them throughout and after my pregnancy Wink
I think like everything else it all depends.
Some women have found that they did not and others got slammed immediately after.

Good luck and best wishes.

Get out! No way! Me too! Grin

Hi Lissa,
Yes, I really did too. Whether or not hormones play a part in your clusters normally, they may play a role now because your body has gone though a trauma..a shock of sorts and needs to regroup itself.
My baby(#3) is now 10 mos old and i took a harsher pounding than usual after he was born. (I get migraines and CH)I also think sleep deprivation is a big factor too. Oxygen is my friend. Smiley

Congratulations, Mommy! Cheesy
Be well and PF!

Are you breast feeding ?

Some women who breast feed seem to have less trouble with CH post natal.

Congratulation on the birth of your baby though  Smiley

Hi Lissa
Sorry to hear you're getting hit so soon, but maybe it's a blessing in disguise. With all 4 of my children, I breast-fed and never got hit until my period returned @ around 10 months or so. I used to think maybe it would have been better to get hit when they were new-borns just because they still sleep so much of the time, rather than get hit when they were crawling (my one year old actually started walking at 9 months) and starting to get into everything. I guess any way you look at it, there's never a "better" time to get these damn things. And, like Rori, oxygen is my friend too. I don't know what I would have done w/out it. Take care.

Thanks for all your congratulations and responses.  I've been getting hit almost every morning.  They aren't so bad though.  Probably a 2 on the KIP.  But they just linger all day so I've been taking imitrex to abort them which helps.  I'm also taking verapamil again.  I hope it starts working soon because I hate these headaches.   Sad  I am not breastfeeding anymore because I got hit with post partum depression and had to take medication that wasn't okay with nursing.  Again, thanks for all your responses.
