my head went numb ???

got hit hard last night..... 12 on the kip scale..... around 8 pm..... then my head went numb on one side... till 2 am when i got hit hard again.......then again at 4 am...... it has gone numb before ... a few years ago...... i was happy just not to feel the pain.....is this bad ??

U might want to go see your friendly doc if this keeps up. Mine is numb but it's because I've had surgery on my trigiminal nerve.

Was it numb from the inside or numb when you touched it?
When the neurologist poked my face with the pin on the right side it was numb, but on the inside I was just past mid hit.

the numbness started on the inside then numb to the touch.. just after a huge hit had peaked... i started depakote on sat. and started steroids today

Hi Dave-
I've never had that happen, but I think I would call my Dr like BD said. Not trying to be an alarmist, but I think it's odd enough to report. Hope things are better...

i called the dr. they said they would look over my mri and mra... and if they saw anything they would call me.... they also said if it happenes again i should go to the emergencey room

yes, a severe headache and numbness can be sign of a stroke...
and going to doc is the best insurance....
but you know the normal pain we suffer is "severe"
so be on the look out for "Changes"
like being "confused", unable to speak coherantly.....
or being suddenly "clumsey"....numbness can be part of that...
or just a "normal thing"
what is important is to journal it....and like the dr. said,
they can spot some troubles on the MRI and other tests....
big hugs to you for survivng a 12.....
I remmeber that the pain scale is always "changing...."
in that once you have a level 10....
(the worst pain in your life) you can have a worse 10
next time....for unless it surpasses the previous pains,
it is jsut a 9.9999999999 )
this thing can make me zany and moot....so
don't mind my "stab" at humor....

confused ?? i am always confused......and clumsey.... yes the pain scale is constantly evolving.... but that was the worse pain i ever felt i was happy when it went numb..... i still feel.. not right... kinda stoned........ humor is always welcome
