Hello all,
Was wondering if it is a possibility to go from eposodic to chronic ?  Seems my cycles last longer and come back sooner than they have in the past.  I should be on a break still from the summer bashing I took, but instead they were back at daylight savings time. Im into week 3 again and feels like there has been more blast these past cycles than ever. Anyone else noticing this out there? Are the planets out of wack or anything? I am just cant think about going form eposodic to chronic (sorry to all those who are you are brave and strong people)
Keep me posted
Brian

It happened to me. Episodic for 5 years then chronic for 15. Then one day I didn't have a CH, then another day. I had a break for almost a month before they came back. As time passed the cycles got shorter and the breaks longer. I reclassified myself as episodic. The next 10 years passed with the same pattern. I now classify myself as normal with only an occasional bout of CH.
They can and do change. There is always hope.

You're still very much episodic, Brian.  You're not chronic until you've gone a year with only short periods of PF time.

It's just a word, anyway, and a definition.  Worrying about what may happen in the future is not productive--the future does not exist.  Only the present exists.  One day at a time, one hit at a time.  Most of the chronics here will tell you the same thing as the episodics--live your life in the pain-free times, whether the time is measured in hours, or in months.  We're all in the same boat (not Chewy's boat,   Wink  but nevertheless).....If we let the beast rule our lives, then the beast wins.

Live your life, and then you win.

Best wishes,

George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs
Wearing the tangerine suits
And their harlequin eyes.
The pain they inspire
Draws in harmonica melodies
And the feathers of birds
Which flame up at their touch.
It all comes to light in the sheer
Debonair.

Brian,

I've been an episodic, then chronic and now episodic again. Don't let the thought of becoming a chronic scare you; you're not one until you are one. Let's hope that it won't ever happen.

best wishes & PF days,
Sanna

Don't panic yet Brian. I once had them for 2 months (they usually lasted me about 2 weeks) but they returned to normal.

Nowadays they last for about 3 to 4 weeks but unlike the 2 weeker ones which gave me a level 9 or 10 every night, I now have mainly 3's to 7's with one 9 or 10 which signals my episode is nearing its end.

See, they kind of change pattern without warning.

I've also had a kind of revenge attack where the CH weeks are over and life returns to pain free and normal and then a few weeks later the CH comes back even worse which I find very upsetting.

One thing I have noticed (maybe just with me or maybe not) is that the longer the episode lasts, the less intense the CH's. For instance a one week episode would be agony but a 6 week episode would be mainly shadows.

The worse ones I ever had lasted a week. Most though last 3 to 4 weeks and aren't as bad.
