Anybody Get..?

I guess this has happened to me before, but it must've happened to me 20 times today, so I just have to ask about this. Does anybody get scalp tingling on exactly one half of their head (for me, the cluster side) that lasts a minute or two? Like all out feels as if someone put a TENS on that half of my scalp and turned it on to moderate level. (Or for those who dont' know what a TENS is...as if someone plugged in the right half of my head to an electric socket and it sent current through the right side of my scalp....) Anybody? It was very weird - and not characteristic for me really...

Well, I do get the tenderness of the scalp and hair. To the point that a slight wind is magnified. Never heard of the tens tho. Hmmmmmmmmm Carl

Carrie, You are not alone, I get this a lot of the time. My CH changes sides from tome to time but I still get the tingling feeling on what ever side is being hit in that particular cycle. I also have the feeling that that side of thescalp is raw and very sensitive to touch. As Carl says you notice it in a wind, I do any how as I have a DJ hair style,-----buffed. Cheers Roy

I get the tingling scalp with just about every hit, feels like my hair (whats left of it LOL) is being pulled out. Mine tends to last for awhile, even after the CH is gone, then I get a sore feeling on my head where it was for at least half the day, almost like my hair hurts. Like you said, weird.....

Carrie, I get the feeling you are speaking of but have no idea what it means. For me it is not a pre HA aura as I often have both at the same time. I own a tens unit for my back and even though they try to idiot proof it..... Yes I have used it to try to abort a HA. A pad high on each cheek and eye, and one on the neck (carotid area) and the last below my hairline back of head over spine. Thought I had something going with the unit set low so I cranked it up a bit and then it pulsed . When I told my Doc about it he said if I really want electric Shock thereapy to let him know and he would find a looney bin for me.... Tim BTW: Don't try this!!! and if you still do you might as well pull all your eyelashes out first cuz your gonna lose most anyway.

Yep I get it along with the feeling of there’s a worm working its way through my scalp and occasionally the itchy feeling from the top of my head down to my ear but since I’ve been on the Taurine & magnesium that’s as far as its got. 47 days pain free so far this time around & I’m stoked. Cheers Barry

I get scalp tenderness and my hair 'hurts' during an attack. I did have that electrical feeling for about a week. Of course I had an Occipital nerve stimulator implanted at the time and it was cranked up !! UNsolved

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Oh well - at least I know yet again that I am not alone! I have a short hair cut (0 blade - not bald but not much there!) and have had the painful head and hair for years during my episodes. I thought I was just nuts or it was a hangover from drugs or the ice packs or maybe the punching myself in the head (not, not really... only sometimes...). It's good to know that others have this wierd bizarre side effect of CH! (In the nicest possible way!)

I dont get any tingles before the attacks but after attacks I feel as if my whole left side (Cluster side) is kind of like that gooshy feeling like when you sprain your ankle or anyother joint. Swollen and sore I guess describes it best or as I like to say Bruised Jelly
