How Long...

Hi, I am a 32 year old female and last year I had ch's every 2-3 days for about a month. They stated on Oct. 17 and ended around Thanksgiving. As we approach a year, I am wondering what was the longest period of time anyone has gone without a ch. I am starting to get nervous, as the neuro said I should expect another episode 4-6 weeks after they ceased. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Nina Vista, CA

Longest remission I've seen on here was 20 years--before they returned. Lots of people have gone 5 years or so. I've gone 3. There are many, many others who have no break at all. Far as I'm aware, there's no clear answer to this one. It does what it does. Best wishes, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

My ch begun in fall 2001. The longest time they've stayed away during these years in 11 months. Lots of folkes in here have lived happily without the beast for years and their stories inspire me. Best wishes & PF days, Sanna

Your Neuro may be basing this information on you're history of attacks. If not... I'm not sure where the 4 to 6 weeks return information came from. From everything I've read and heard every sufferer will develop some type of cycle(s) in their attacks. That cycle will most likely be specific to the sufferer and will most likely change from time to time. There is no set set rule in the occurance of cycles that addresses every sufferer. Best wishes, Tom

For about a decade, I had them every summer for 6 weeks or so. Like clockwork. For the past several years, I have dodged them. Other people's experiences are quite different.

CH has a mind of it's own. It comes and goes when it pleases. Doubt you could find any 2 of us alike. Best of luck to you, Jean

I'm really new compared to most of the people here but I've read alot and agree, it would be difficult to find two people with the same symptoms. My first episode was from May - Aug of 2005 When Aug of 2006 passed without one of these devils I thought I was free and it wouldn't return. They started again Oct 24th........ I'm dreading going to sleep tonight.....................
