Gday, While in cycle I also suffer from several other things. I seem to break out in hives, while in cycle. I live on aspirin, antihistamiines and oxygen. (I have just realised while typing this very thing that maybe the aspirins are causing the hives????i only use them during cycle because it helps with the neralgia etc. any thoughts, annette especially ???) I get the most irritating twitch in my eyelid. same side as hit, might stop during a hit, but i dont know im too pre-occupied. i also have this boil, pimple that breaks out on my lower lip, only during cycle thanks had to vent Turts

Hi Turt, First where do you get the hives, face only or all over the body. Aspirin shouldnt cause hives unless you are allergic to it yourself, but then why do you take aspirin for neuralgia? I dont think its strong enough nor has been found to be effective for neuralgia. The easiest thing to do is to stop the aspirin for a few days and see. If the hives goes away then there you have the answer. If your liver is fine, taking Ibuprofen once a day may be a lot more effective for neuralgia. Are you taking the antihistamine because of the hives? You said you live on them too? Well, too much antihistamines can also cause "rebound" and worsen the itch. I suggest you stop both aspirin and antihistamines for a week and use moisturiser and possibly some topical cortisone cream for the skin hives and then see what happens. Sometimes too much OTC can cause toxicity and leads to skin reactions such as hives. Stay on the oxygen though. The twitch on the eyelid is part of CH, not much you can do for this one, sorry. With the pimple on your lower lip. without looking at it its hard for me to tell what it is. Could it be a cold sore? Have you tried putting some antiseptic cream on it such as pawpaw cream ? Good luck with it all Turts. Take care and PF wishes to you. Annette

hi Annette, thanks for responding. answers to your questions hives all over- trunk, palms, neck, face, legs etc. i have looed it up previously, it is dermagraphitis (?) i think, i.e. i can play noughts and crosses (tick tack toe) on my arm, as little scratches of the skin come up in welts. i only take the reccomended dose (honest). it only seems to come during a cycle. i take dispirin, i havent got the box with me but im sure on the back it is reccommended for HA, tootch ache, and trigermal neralgia is one of them antihistamine only taken because of the hives. i knew aboput the twitch but had to vent have been told it is strep, use tea tree oil, but it only comes about while in cycle, p.s. where abouts in sydney are you from? Thanks Turts

| I get the eyelid twitch too. Same side as the attacks just like you. I have been trying to find a pattern to it. Does it herald an upcoming attack? Does it mean I have 8 or so hours until my next attack. so far no discern-able pattern between the twitch and the attacks. It may stop during an attack, but who knows? Just another quirky thing to add to my "personality"
