Muscular pain from Pred

Hi all, has anybody else had this......
Im off the pred but am getting muscular pain in my neck & back. When i'm doing a pred taper im fine so I definately know it is down to this.
Also, I rang my doctor earlier & he aggred it is withdrawals from the Pred & wants me to go & see him on Monday.
Ive read what pred can do & am hoping this will eventually go away & is not a permanant thing as ive been using pred quite a lot over the last 2 years, only recently has the bloody doctors put me on Verapamil as you shouldn't use Pred for long periods.
Just wondered has anybody else had these pains & do they go away????
On a good note, the 720mg of Verap must have kicked in as I haven't had a CH since Tuesday morning & this is the longest ive been PF in over 4 months

I.ve done three pred tapers and everyone was followed by months of lingering joint and muscle aches. So far, they have all gone away, but each time it seems to take longer. Pred is nasty stuff, but in the throws of Kip 8-10's, you just dont care.
Maybe I'm just getting old.

Yes, I get muscular pain and ankle swelling when on steroids for very long...but to me, it's well worth it. The pain has always gone away. If I don't take it, the pain is MUCH WORSE !!

Muscular pain and acheyness is very common with pred. I've been on it before and my husband takes it as needed for when his asthma gets really bad. It also can make a person irritable.
It does go away when the med is stopped.

It's worse for me at night, when I'm on my pred taper as I try to fall asleep my back cramps like a son of a gun. I gotta keep jumping outta bed and doing contortionisms! It stops about a week after I'm done with the pred.

Unfortunately it is a side effect-but it should go away after awhile. I've done a lot of pred tapers in my life-the long term effects: osteopenia-not gonna do any more-the holiday wasn't worth a potential broken hip.
