Took some the other night to try and ward off a hit while at the same time make me drowsy so I could sleep, and it was as if I had taken caffeine pills! I tried to sleep and.....zing! Open eyes. Maybe I was just too tensed up knowing that a hit was coming. Happen to anyone else?

No, thats never happened to me. I always sleep really well with it, doesn't always stop me getting a CH. May take a few days for it to kick in properly.

Matty, I don't know about your effect as though taking caffeine. Melatonin does take some time to get in to the system to where it will work. However, you should try to maintain a regular sleep/wake schedule every night as much as possible. I took 9 mg of Melatonin about 30 minutes before a REGULAR bedtime (several others have also added one Benedryl). It took about a week of doing this before I actually noticed benefits from it - sleep. Don't give up on it yet - just make sure you maintain a regular schedule of going to bed, and take the Melatonin about 30 minutes before. Hope it works for you. Sandy

Like the others said....give it a few more days. You may have to adjust your dosage as you go along...but Melatonin has worked really well for alot of us. Best of luck to you, Jean

| What Jean said. I wouldn't be without it. That said, it's possible that it may not work for you. It doesn't work for everybody. But give it a few days before you decide. Best wishes, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)
