Well my steroid treatment has run its course.  Two nights later with no full blown CH, but the last two mornings I have woken up at either 4:30 or 5:30 with the obvious start of one.  Hit the zomig yesterday with some soda, stuck with iced coffee this morning.  Kept him at bay, but it certainly does suck being up this early.  More than a fair trade off though.
I'm wondering if I should stagger my Verapamil a little differently, I generally take my last 160 between 9 and 10pm, and get up at 6.  Maybe I can take 80 at bedtime, then another 80 at some point during the night so I can be sure to have some in my system throughout the entire night.
All in all not bad, I'm starting to have some faith in the Verapamil.

I could be wrong about this, but I have found that, once you reach theraputic levels of verapamil, it doesn't matter one way or the other if you miss taking it by a few hours. It always takes a week to 10 days to become effective for me, so it seems that it has to "build up" in my system. Once it's there, it seems that a dose that's not taken on time doesn't really have much of an effect.

Similarly, when I start tapering off, it seems like I don't start to feel like I'm coming off of it for several days.

Hmm, maybe it just likes waking up that time of the morning then.  That's usually when I've had some of my most deep/dream filled sleep, so it's probably particularly inviting.
