Something new in an old head.

Last nigh I went to bed, and of course I knew that the beast was going to pay me one or several unsolicited visits. As this is so common and always on schedule, I previously had 2.5 mg of Zolmitriptan, I was sure it would give me at least 6(six) hours of nice sleeping time as it usually does, and it did, but something new háppened when I woke up due to the activation of the "internal pain-on alarm", and of course with a bit of rapidly growing pain on my right side... After 10 minutes or less, the pain which wasn't very intense K4-5, suddenly began to fade away, and all of a sudden it was completely gone, no pain at all, but... a couple of minutes later the pain switched to the left side of my head, and stayed there for 5 or 6 minutes with the same K4-5, and then it switched back again to the 'normal' right side of my head where I finally got a nice and easy to recognize CH attack. I'm not only a clusterhead but a switcher as well!. Well, I only wanted to let you know that I survived this new, so rapidly changing sides experience, and no more medicine or attacks were required for the rest of the day.

As a long-term episodic who's always been attacked on the same side, I've gotta say that an experience like you describe would completely freak me out. I don't think I'd know what to do with the thing if it showed up on the other side of my head--especially during the same attack. (Shudder). Best wishes, George

Ah! The foreigners put on such airs Wearing the tangerine suits And their harlequin eyes. The pain they inspire Draws in harmonica melodies And the feathers of birds Which flame up at their touch. It all comes to light in the sheer Debonair. (Ellen)

I can remember during bad hits wishing it would just hurt on the other side for a while, but if it had ever switched I think I would have been freaked out. best wishes Big Guy
