Interesting cycle this time around

Huh I have a question about everyone's cycle.

This time around it seams that the shadows wont go away. I have them all the time, but on the good side the actual attacks are not as bad (only up to a 4-5 on the kip scale) but like I said I cant get rid of the shadows. Nothing seams to work to fight them off. All of my other cycles the shadows would come and go before and after the attack.

Im just wondering if this is "normal" (if there is such a thing) or if maybe im starting to convert from epp. to cronic? Cry

My shadows have increased over the years during cycle, yet the episodes of cycles have not increased.  Another new thing that only started happening my last cycle (and has not been bothering me this cycle cause I am using different stuff to fight them) were the "hangovers"--that is what my doc calls them--they suck real bad--they are a "result" of the headache the night before and at times I had to stay in a dark room much of the day b/c of the pain in my left eye and sensitivity to light in that eye.
Different cycles you can have different "symptoms"--that does not mean you are going chronic.  It can be scary though to have the constant reminder of the beast.

I think if you concentrate on being chronic, you will become it!  Think of yourself as well, and believe it to be true,  and that, too, will come to pass;  hopefully....  Hope you have fewer shadows and pain!!!

Kevin,
WTHeck!  are you talking about?  Visualize yourself giving positive affirmations of health and wealth somewhere where people are NOT dealing with intense pain and asking sincere questions. Give me a break.... Angry
Eric-shadowlands suck-have you tried Red Bull or Rock star?-they help some of us with the shadows...and yes, I am now chronic and often have shadows.  I compare shadows to migraines-though that probably isn't fair to migraineurs-just that they last awhile, are painful but not full-blown CHs and make me grumpy.
PFDAN to all CHers and peace to their supporters!
Kathy
P.S. I ordered some taurine tablets-active ingredient in energy drinks (among others)-alot cheaper than the drinks.

Actualy, I just tried a RedBull type drink tonight at work and im pleased to say that it worked. It didnt make it go away completely, but it was gone enough to not think about it while working. I was the Powerade Advance. With the caffeine and taurine in it. I work in a foundry so I thought it would help keep me hydrated as well work for the CH, I was pleasanty suprised that it did. Tomorrow though Im going to go look for some Taurine pills to take and have a question about what I should be really looking for as far as dosage/mg amounts etc.?? Huh

i was under the impression that it was the caffine in the energy drinks that did the work.
as it is a vasoconstrictor.

does taurine do the same thing anyone ??

caffeine is the vaso constrictor, taurine increases the effect of the caffeine so it's sort of like putting a turbo on it  Grin Don't you just love it when I explain stuff properly?!

I am probably asking and obvious question, but do you really drink enough water during the day, especially with your work environment?

This last cycle, I had more shadows near the end of the cycle...

Maybe the end (of the cycle) is near.   Wink

As far as the water/hydration thing is concerned...
It was explained to me like this:
What is your weight in pounds.  (ex. I weigh 172 pounds)
Take that number cut in half. (176 / 2 = 86)
Make that number the number of ounces  you drink a day, minimum (I should drink 86 oz of h2o a day).   Shocked

I know that's alot, but once your body gets used to it--it ain't so bad.
