MRI results...

I am writing for my hubby who is a new clusterhead.  Our info is on the newbie page under "new clusterhead".  He recently had an MRI that shows a loss of volume of brain tissue in the right cerebellum.  That it is turning soft.  Has anyone heard if migranes or CH's cause damage to brain tissue?  His CH is controlled by Verapamil, thank God, but now are wondering what the MRI shows or if it is connected in any way at all.   Huh

Have a good one.

Not sure about migraines, but I do not know of any such anomaly associated with CH.

I'm sorry. I haven't heard of this.  Mostly, you might hear about the slight abnormality in the hypothalmus.  We don't know the cause.

Welcome to the board, kristinjo.
Sorry to hear your husband is hurting. I have never heard of loss of volume of brain tissue related to clusterheadaches. Sure hope you're looking into the reason/cause for it.

Do you really live in a town called 'embarrass'? That's pretty cool. Funny as heck, but cool.  Cheesy

Migraines are associated with impaired blood flow to the brain, an increase in strokes and mini-strokes, and certain types of scars in the brain.  Prolonged intense pain can also cause a shrinking of the brain - but it is usually general and not in one area.  You might want to talk to the doc about low dose blood thinners and/or foods that thin the blood, but most docs would shrug it off.

When I had my MRI they found the natural occuring holes in my brain (I forget what they are called--something with a "V"...?--I can't remember, probably the holes in my head) were larger than normal...

The doctor said the holes had no bearing on my headaches...

Thanks for all your info. Yes, we indeed do live in a town called Embarrass.  We were the cold spot one year with -56 degrees.  It's located in N/E Minnesota.

My hubby and I read many of the posts last night.  You are all in our prayers for being pf or to at least find a strategy that works for you.

Have a great one.
