This is really a post for anyone who may uses a sauna or steam room. I had the oppertunity for a long visit to Finland many years ago and found out why they love they sauna so much. Many of us find it soothing to change from a warm shower (let's say) to a cold one, quicky. I was wondering if the same theory would/does apply to sauna? It would also help alot if you guys would support me in this endevour as I would really like to have one (they rock ) and I need ammo for the better half... hee hee Shane

Heat is a trigger for many people, a big trigger for me. Your better half is truly better. No sauna for you!

Saunas really are great, especially if you get the birch leaves going. Sure fire trigger for cluster for my hubby though, if he's in cycle. Same with a hot tob. Out of cycle, he's fine though. We have a friend from Estonia who has a sauna in his basement. He uses the birch leaves and it's just wonderful. But Mike knows not to go near it when he's in cycle.

AAUUUGGHHHMMMM.....It is my humble opinion that the routine utilization will CURE your cluster head aches however, this will require several months if not years of your most diligent and regular usage. I am also of the mind that it enhances sexual performance, you will be debt free within one year and you and your family will be back down to your old high school weights in no time! No seriously I think that anything that might help relieve stress and help us feel better is worth it.

Shane we have a suana in the master bath at my house we use it extensively. Your wife will love it. It can but doesnt usually bother my CH. The trick is to keep fresh air flowing through it. Get one I reccomend it.

Hi Shane, I have used saunas and steam quite extensively. Hot/cold therapy is really good for the heart. However, since I noticed a 100% hit rate, I had to stop using them. Used to bring on some real bastard hits. I really miss the sauna a lot. It is very relaxing and is a good place just to be alone with your thoughts......or with naked chicks, depending on what's available. LOL BMonee

I cannot tolerate a sauna, in or out of cycle! I almost feel claustrophobic in it, and I can't stand to just sit there and sweat like a pig. I'll take the hot tub any day over a sauna (except in cycle). When in cycle, only cold, cold, cold will work for me. My normal temperature is about two points below the "typical" 98.6. During cycle, I constantly run at 98.6, then during a hit, goes up to over 100. Then I literally freeze when the hit is over. Sandy

Devil and the deep blue sea - when in cycle and when getting hit - I seem to need all the heat I can get and used steam rooms and saunas to help get over the early CH attacks I had. However after a fabulous sauna last year I was really badly hit as soon as I started walking out into the frsh air. Most tangible trigger I'd ever had. Advice - in cycle expect saunas to be a trigger.

Shane, sorry that I didn't reply sooner. I have been staying at a beautiful island away from puters for days. But back to saunas. As much as I love to promote everything Finnish... sauna is a trigger for me as well. I get hit within 5 minutes after spending time at sauna (I'm one sauna-loving Finn, I'm usually there for somewhat 2 hours, swim/eat sausage/drink water in between and I can tolerate high heat - yup, I've beaten loads of men in 'who stays at the sauna longest' - competition... ). The same goes with hot showers, so all things hot are bad for me. But, still, my family has 2 saunas, one at our house in Helsinki and another at our summer cottage... best wishes, Sanna
