Shocking situation

I have read here that many of you notice teitches in your HA area just before your cycle is about to begin. I too think that I may have that same thing happen as I remember getting little spasms around my cheek, nose, eye and temple during different times of the year. Now that I think about it the last time it happened was right before the cycle that I am hopefully coming out of. That being said, and thinking that all of these are due to electrical impulses... I have also noticed that I always carry a heavy load of static during two times of the year. Both seem to be around when I would have been in cycle. Any thoughts? Shane

Shane---I hope that your cycle is coming to an end. Whenever I get a brutal attack during a cycle-that usually translates into the cycle's starting to wind down. Having gone through 28 years of this crap---I know of no better feeling than when the damn thing leaves !!!

I think there is a lot of room to study the electrical aspect of our nerves and clusterheadaches. I post whenever opportunity arrises on how a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator - TENS - has helped in my last few cycles. Both times years ago I was given similar treatment by an Orthodontist (for TMJ-BullSH*T) and by a Chiropracter (quackter) it did help some. Though both gave a terrible misdiagnosis of my condition, the TENS treatments did help some. I got my own at a yard sale and use it every cycle now. Across the back of my neck and at the base of my head, as well as from temple to jaw is very effective to abort an attack when caught early and also seems to shorten my cycle when used morning and night for 10 or 15 minutes regardless of having an attack. I always mention folks should be careful with these, since it is electricity being put through ones skin, nerves, muscle, etc. I wouldn't try it near the chest or with heart issues, pacemaker, etc. That said, they run about $100 from several companies on the web. Best of luck, Rich

ShaneM, YES!! I always get a twitch in my left eyelid (same side as my CH) that lasts for about a week. This twitch usually comes about one or two months before my cycle begins. I got that same twitch about a month ago and it lasted for THREE WEEKS and was the worse twitching I've ever had...I'm hoping that it's not an indicator that my CH will be 3x worse this cycle! BJ
