yoga for headaches?

I have been a chronic sufferer for 10 years. I have tried lithium(no good), indocine(worked for about 5 yrs.), O2(no good), am presently on Verapamil for the last two yrs., use Zomig spray as an abortive, as well as caffeine products. My daughter just sent me a long article touting yoga as a great help for most headaches. Although it is hard to get her and friends to understand that this is a head pain, not a headache, I am wondering if anyone has tried serious yoga training to alleviate the cluster pains. Please respond, as I don't know of any literature specifically relating to yoga and clusters. Thanks. Madaline

Hi Madeline I have been practising Iyengar Yoga for the past 30 odd years and it has had absolutely no impact on my CH during all this time. It is really great for stress relief, which may be the cause of general stress related headaches, but it is not going to help your CH. Your daughter has your best interests at heart but unless they suffer from CH, most people don't understand - this is not "just a headache" I do however highly recommend Yoga for fitness, health and overall mental well being John

Madeline, I love doing yoga. I used to do it regurlarly, but now just every now and then. What comes to ch, some of us have found that doing exercises can help out. I do pilates every day, with or without ch and once doing it did abort the attack, but that was only once. The beast likes to alter all the time. And what helps with one, might not work with others. If you're keen to try yoga, try. Who knows, it could help YOU. Personally I think that it's important to take care of oneself, especially, when ch is around. Even if yoga would not help with ch, it could do wonders to you otherwise. It helped me a lot with my stress levels. Best wishes & PF days, Sanna
