Has anyone here been diagnosed with cluster headaches AND trigeminal neuralgia?

I'm not sure yet (getting MRI soon), but the neurologist reckons I have symptoms of both - lucky me! (It's probably just that I haven't been able to describe the pain properly.)

I don't have TN with My CH but I do have idiopathic stabbing HA(ice piks), Migraine and some other fun variants to go along in my brain cocktail.

I am currently med free by choice and chronic but like it that way (not the attacks but the lack of meds inmy system)

I used to keep the icepicks away with indocin.

TN can be treated with a few antisiezures mainly tegretol which may have some effect on your CH as well.
Though it may not.
Some of the other meds used for TN as well as CH are Topomax and Depakote.

Good luck and hope you find relief!

Not  a nice choice to have.

Neither would be best.

I was 'diagnosed' Atypical TN and given tegretol, really bad stuff didn't like the effects at all. However that was better than diagnosis of sinus headaches which it had been for a few years prior!

Since it was CH all along - can't say tegretol shifted the cycle at all.  But then neither did pizotifen (really hated that) and the Triptans tried (caught some but the ones it didn't...).

Now med free - pain free - not counting clusterbusters which does work for me.
