Hemicrania Continua?

Anybody on this board diagnosed with this bugger? Sort of a non-stop Kip3 headache punctuated by "jolts and jabs" all day, served with a side order of exertion headaches and for dessert, a bi- or tri- monthly "brainwreck"--bonafide Kip 9-10. Looking for fellow travellers. Thanks, Capt. Deb

I looked hemicrania continua up on line. Is the only medication Indomethacin, and if so, how does it work? Do triptins work for you? You probably have posted the answers to these already, but I missed them. Do you get any relief from the bi tri-monthly meltdowns? I'm chronic. I'm a combo plate. I do get stabs & jabs at different times. My patterns change, sometimes daily, sometimes monthly, and the pain level fluctuates. Sometimes the trigiminal nerve doesn't hurt at all but I get side hits that make me forget everything. I'm not a perfect match, but I will gladly share the journey. Charlotte

Hi Charlotte, I tried the Indomethacine for a week before it decided to eat a hole in my stomach lining, which was already in bad shape from using meds. The triptan I most relied on, Zomig nasal, failed me the time before last. The next hit, I used Imitrex injectable for the first time and it seemed to work pretty good. Never had any results from any oral triptans. I think my head nerves got scrambled by the surgery, which was done on the owie side of my head where I get the headaches. When I scratch my temple, I feel it near the back of my head, where the pain originates. Capt Deb

I have been diagnosed with this but I have found nothing that works. I did 72 hrs of dhe did nothing . I am doing a second round of indomicine 75 mg 3times a day. I understand the pain. I have had it for 13 weeks about 6 on the kip scale most of the time. I hope you find relief .
