Having my longest cluster ever...

I first started getting clusters last summer.  It was about a three month long cycle.  I had been fine until a couple of weeks ago.

Right now I'm having the longest cluster I've ever had, it's been a little over three hours, now.  I've been getting them everyday.  I've read that the seasonal changes could have something to do with triggering them and this makes sense to me because both times its started, it had been transitioning from spring to summer.  Alcohol doesn't seem to be a trigger at all.  Exercise doesn't seem to help, I'll usually get one after lifting or going for a run.  Sometimes a long shower helps, but not always.  I'll find if I don't have anything in my stomach, I'll get naucious, so that's difficult.

Nothing seems to work, I can't imagine this being a lifelong problem for people, my heart goes out to anyone who's been suffering for many years.

I haven't tried oxygen, I'm thinking this may be the way to go...

If you haven't tried oxygen yet it's certainly worth looking at and there's heaps of information around the board as to how to get the best from it.

As to your three-hit, we know just how you feel.  Often though it's two or three idividual hits back-to-back.

Good luck and bad language,

Hi Nowell.  Brian's suggeston about oxygen was a good one.  Many of us here have great success aborting headaches with O2, especially if you can get to it early on.  If this is your second CH episode, then you may need to really educate yourself and take what you learn to your doc to find treatments that can work for you.  Here is a good link to start your search:
http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf

The OUCH website and the oxygen info (links on left) can also be very helpful.  Not all treatments work for everyone, so read as much as you can, and feel free to ask questions here along the way.  We are here to help and support.  Pain free wishes to you.  Pat

Thankfully, this seems to have only been about a two week cycle.  I haven't gotten a cluster since last Friday, and it was while drinking at a party.  Which was surprising, because before that, the entire two weeks, none of my headaches had been triggered by alcohol.

Thanks for the tips, hopefully I won't have to look into them for a while...
