has anyone else noticed that about 30 minutes before getting hit, that they get really manic? Elevated mood, hyper, etc? Noticed it this cycle and am too lazy to search to see if anyone else has ever posted about it.

Mine come out of the blue. I've not noticed an upper or a lower level in my mood or energy level. About 5 minutes before the pain begins, I get an "uncomfortable" feeling in my stomach and then an "oh sh@#" feeling just before it starts. Wishing you a short cycle. Guiseppi

No. Most of the time I get hit out of the blue. Just when everything was seemimgly normal. Many times awaken out of sleep. Not manic or hyper then either. Sometimes I do run around screaming "Oh SHIT ... Oh SHIT ... Oh SHIT !" and/or "EYE MA TREX ... EYE MA TREX ... EYE MA TREX !". Is that being manic ? lol UNsolved

I usually get about a 10 minute warning. It's like Charlette said.... Oh SHIT, here it comes. At that point the panic begins and prep for the needle, ice packs, O2 mask, muscle massage vibrator, Kleenex and empty room to hide begins. During the waiting period, I'm a nervous wreck and mood changes for the worst. So I guess you can say YES I really get MANIC.

Is manic a form of depression? Before, during, or after the episode NOT just you my friend. CH, depression peas, carrots Really, I can feel changes in my mood as well as anxiety before an attack. Before an episode I have sleep problems and depressed mood. During ...I try to be civil. After the episode it's mental and physical healing time to get ready for the return of the beast. all the best jb

I usually get whacked out of the blue too. My first symptoms are my gumline and my nose. My mood usually sucks anyway so I haven't noticed a change Sean............................

My assistant noticed (years ago) that my eye starts swelling shut (I don't notice it), but have always gotten hit out of the blue. Usually wake up with a 4-6 and have to abort that one. Then during the day - it just comes out of the blue at different times. No pattern that I can tell.... Hugs BD
