2 nights with out CH

OK. I'm taking 80mg's of verapamil 3 times a day and I've began taking Melatonin last friday. I started with 3 mg's the first night, 6 the second, 9 the third and finaly 12 for the past two nights. My CH's have stopped but I still feel a few shadows if I wake up to go to the bath room or in the mornings. My question is, is my cycle ending or is the melatonin beginning it's effect? I would say that the Verapamil is running it's course but I've only been taking it a few days longer than the Verapamil. I feel like my cycle is still here but, I just feel it less. Does this sound right to any one else? Either way it's good news but, I was just wondering if you guys knew for sure.

How long have you been in cycle? How long are your cycles normallY? My cycles wind down slowly, with one pf night followed by a night with hits, then 2 pf nights, with a bad one to follow. I can go like that for a month before the last big bang.

This time, it's been 8 weeks. Last two times it was 1 week and my second cycle was 2 weeks. This is the longest I've been in a cycle ever.

| I'm wondering the same thing. Yesterday was only my second day on Verapamil and Melatonin. I felt some intense shadows and was expecting to get a whalloping last night, but no attacks. I could hardly believe it.

I really don't know the answer to your questions, but the Melatonin really does seem to help quite a few people quite a bit. To help stop the shadows, perhaps consider trying caffeine with Taurine - like a strong cup of coffee in the morning with a Taurine supplement (1000mg), or just drink a Red Bull - it has both in it already. That seems to help with the shadows for some. Good luck, and hope the pain stays at bay! laurie

| Be careful if with Taurine if you are taking Verapamil!!! CAUTIONS Taurine should not be taken if you are currently on a prescription for Verapamil or any other calcium channel blocker. Until more is learned, it is wise to assume that Taurine may increase the action of Verapamil, which could slow the heart excessively, causing irregular heart beats and possibly a heart attack. It is also not clear if Taurine would interact with other medicines like Sodium Valproate or Lithium. http://med-owl.com/clusterheadaches/tiki-index.php?page=Taurine
