Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

A thousand times, Thank You. In just the few day since I've discovered this site and you clusterheads, things are looking brighter. Granted the pain is still there but for the fisrt time it's primarilly physical. For years I felt as though I was in this miniscule percentage of people with these attacks. While the percentage may not lie, I don't feel nearly as alone. It has helped my wife to understand more of what I am going through, and vice versa, although she's pushing for the "Magic Mushrooms" . Going to make an appointment at the local University Hospital's neurology clinic. I figure it would be a good choice, not only would they be more on the cutting edge of treatments (I'm willing to be a Guinea Pig, afterall what could be worse than an hour long K10 every night for weeks, no wonder I'm on Lexapro and Trazodone) and it would give neurology students some much needed experience for our small percentage. I'm going to push for the O2 and AutoInjector, as every other abortave has failed repeatedly, and I'll pull the $25 out from between my cheeks for the Clustermasx. (Maybe we should drop the x and call conventions Clustermas, we could exchange Imitrex and have a 2am Ball where we take our monsters for a dance) And as Ignorant as it may sound to you vets, what I thought were sinus and tension headaches during the day, are actually low grade attacks. How stupid it seems in retrospect to try to knock out one of these with a couple of Tylenol. In addition to the neuro's advice, I also plan on taking herbs; just not the mushrooms, they may wind up in spaghetti sauce on accident. Holy crap it's 4am, been pain free for 4 hours now, and I hope I'll be awake free for a couple more. Once again... THANK YOU!

No need to thank us, mate, it's why we're here. There's swags of information around this place and it's all here for you, free for nothing, so if you can find just one little gem amongst it then the world is a better place. You're among friends now who understand, from the inside, so there's no need to explain. Welcome home, Brian.

Well said, Brian. I'll add that you should stick around, continue to learn, and be here for the new ones that need help, just like we've all needed it and we now give it. That's what makes this place such a haven for us. Keep us posted on your experiments at the university hospital! PF wishes. Jose

....what Brian said. There are plenty of "non-physical" elements" of CH to deal with. I think in many ways strengthening the emotional part is just as important in learning to cope. The people here can do wonders for you. Pat
