am I growing out of my clusters

Hi all:

My cycle is due and I am ready but they are hitting me a little strange this time.  I am a textbook cluster headache guy and have headaches every 17 months for the last 20 years.

I stopped drinking coffee and lifting weights.  I am trying not to stress out over little things or big things; however, I am experiencing bad dreams which seem to go hand in hand with the cluster headaches but they have not hit as hard as they used to.  They are not 10- suicide ones like before, more like a 4.

Is it the lack of coffee or weights or am I just growing out of this?  I am not going to get too excited about this only time will tell.

I am also drinking green tea and honey every day as an addition to my diet.

Drugs only mask the problems let it work its way through even though its as painful as hell.  Bobby's remedy for a level 10 suicide headache is a hot pounding shower.  bobbyj

I just finished a 2 year remission at age 46,  then wam they were back! The only predictable thing about these dang things is their unpredictability. I'll say a quick prayer you're done with them, wouldn't that be awesome!

For my first 20 CH years I got hit every 8 or 9 months.

When I turned 40 they jumped to every 2 years.  Since then every remission gets longer.  I'm now 55 y/o and last remission was 3 years 2 months long.

I get this awful feeling, not true depression but just this "in the pit of your stomach feeling" that they're back. I know for certain the cluster has returned before i get the first headache. (My wife used to say I was "wishing them back"Wink  About a week after I start geting that feeling I'll get the hard shadows and within a week or two I'm back in full cycle. I don't get the bad dreams but I do get that lump between my shoulder blades others have been posting about. I sure hope I mimic Bob and keep getting longer breaks. That two year break was absolute heaven!

No.  I did them wrong.  I did quit drinking alcohol on my 40th birthday so you may try that.
